I'd recommend reading the manuals posted on Haltech's site first so you know basic startup procedures. Also, track down all the necessary wiring diagrams ahead of time because the sensors, etc do not typically come with them.

If you have questions along the way, just start post questions here and we'll help you out. I know there are several guys here who are knowledgeable and who helped me get mine up and running.

I ran a Haltech E11V2 on my RB26 a few years ago. I used the patch harness so it was plug and play into the OEM harness. All you have to do is run an air temp sensor and a map/baro sensor and that's it. Use a base map that you can get from haltech for free and get it tuned.

I had no problems with it. It was easy to tune. The only thing that sucked was it didn't have USB, it only ran old serial. So you have to get a USB to serial adapter.

So I've got everything wired up... tomorrow I will fill up all of the fluids, and then attempt to set up the Haltech from scratch since I don't have a base map.

The software comes with base maps. Why would you try to start it from scratch?

Yep, when you install the software, the base maps are loaded under the Haltech folder. Then, when you go to create your tune, start by opening the appropriate R33 tune (MAF vs MAP). Then, make the adjustments you need in terms of injector size and dead time, etc. As long as your injector dead times are close to correct, it should fire off without a problem and you can tweak the base fuel map to get it to 14.7 or so at idle.

You have a wideband wired into it, correct?

I am using an Inovate LC1 wideband. I plugged the haltech to my laptop using a serial to usb adapter, but says Haltech disconnected. On my laptop I am using windows 7 32 bit through VMware manager. No idea right now as to why it wont read, but I called it a day as my frustration level was at "f*** it"...

I think I just need to set up my com port for the usb/serial adapter.

where is this haltech folder you speak of??? i dont see it. Anyways, I quit. I don't have a 32 bit computer, and it was a nightmare dealing with the virtual 32 bit OS on my pc. So I quit until I get a 32 bit laptop, or until someone else comes and tunes this thing.
