has anyone attempted to put halogens on the versa?

and if so, what are the appropriate halogens to get? (wattage, volts, etc)

Isn't the stock bulb a halogen. Either way, the lightbulb is H4 if I'm not mistaken.

Bulbs come stock as halogen (in the US i know, not sure about the other versions) and the size is H4 aka 9003.

Could you be taking about an HID conversion possibly?

People often don't realize just how great halogen bulbs really are. Many people take them for granted, until they drive a car with incandescent headlamps. That's right; incandescent. My 1970 Pontiac had them, and it was nearly impossible to see ANYTHING at night!

You're not confusing Halogen (normal modern car headlight) with Xenon (HID) are you?

No point in going more blue in halogen unless you're doing it for looks. White is ideal. Blue trades illumination for color, just like yellow.

Try Silverstar or Silverstar Ultra lamps. They're a direct replacement for stock lamps but produce a crisper whiter light and also provide a wider and longer illumination area. I've run them in my cars for years. Certainly no match for true HIDs, but they are an improvement over stock.

Stock light bulbs in all cars today (unless otherwise specified as HID's) are halogen bulbs due to their ability to withstand temperature changes and their lumen levels.

I agree with what several people have said - if you want new light bulbs that are clear and bright, get the Silverstar's by Sylvania. They produce about a 4000k white light, and are the next best thing to a real HID system. They cost near $40, but are certianly worth it for the increased brightness and clarity of the light. The blue ones aren't worth your time, and are a pain in the *** to drive with at night.

Go to rallylights.com and get some 65/70 watt Osram Hypers. They'll put out a lot of light without frying anything and have a decent life span. Don't get something retarded like a 100 watt bulb. You'll fry everything and blind people. Also don't get blue bulbs. That includes Silverstars. You don't really see better. The whiter light just gives you the perception that you do but the amount of lumens is the same or sometimes even less. A lot of people who use the Hypers say they put Silverstars to shame. Google up Daniel Stern lighting... everything about automotive lighting you could possibly want to know.
