Halo projector headlights 2000 I30

So I messed up my passenger side headlight assy. Instead of replacing just the one I was thinking about upgrading to the halo projector assy. Ther are a few different ones out there for the 2000-2004 I30/35. Anyone got any advice on these projector lights. Are some really better than the others? I don't have the HID kit on my I 30.as I understand it you don't necessarily need HID lights to use projector assys. Is this ture? If so what is involved in installing the halo assys besides the obvious mounting bolts?
