ok im sorry if this is in the wrong place/ or if someone has already answered this question....but i need help finding someone that will install my halos and do a few mods on my headlight display. I live in dallas texas and i cant find one soul that will help me install them. Everyone is either too scared to mess it up or they just think its too much work. :tisk:

I paid 200 for just the rings  ....yes i know i got ripped off but its too late now, and now they just sit in the box they came in , in the back of my closet.

This is a list of exactly what i need done:
1. open headlights casings up and remove amber casing over turn signals
2. install halo rings
3. Possibly paint the casing black
4. and finally reseal it good to where theres no chance of water leaking into the casing

Ive been looking through forums and talking to a BUNCH of ppl bout this issue, so if anyone, ANYONE AT ALL, knows someone that will do all this for me in dallas texas pleasseeeeeeee let me know!

Thanks alot

Seeing as how opening up the headlight involves baking it for a certain time at a certain safe temperate to begin with... I can see why most people run the other way when you ask for help, UNLESS they've done something like that before.

Since you already paid $200 for the rings alone, I'd go look for a used coupe headlight to experiment on first, and then do the real deal.

PM Dangeris, he might do it for you. Dont think he is in Dallas though.

I plan on doing this eventually, but I will be buying an entire new set of heads from eBay.

I "recently" bought a spare headlight off of ebay for $30 and baked them open. It's a pain in the a** the first time through. The sealant Nissan uses is no joke. I got the headlight open, repainted it black and just need to seal it back up with some black silicone I bought. I plan on probably doing my actual headlights either this weekend or the weekend after and see how it goes.
If you can get a cheap headlight off of ebay to practice on, I would suggest trying it yourself.

Opening the headlight is an art and some people hacked the crap out of theirs just trying to do that. I guess it all depends on the size of your balls and your technical skills :chuckle: If you do get them open with no damage (if you're lucky) and you seal them back up, what do you use to "test" to make sure that the seal is good? I'm guessing nothing. Just a visual inspection of the sealant in which case is a hit or miss. Most people find out they have condensation after the first good rain fall or good car washing. Personally, I've devised my own way to test and make sure that every light I do doesn't leak or condensate before I send them back :chuckle:

I look at it this way, I'm a Network Engineer by trade and I work on the cutting edge DoD security measure/countermeasure technologies. I'm sure my customers wouldn't want Joey Bags O'donuts who's never done what I've done before to do what I do. In other words, I'm picky about what I do to my car. Since my car is show car, EVERYTHING I do has to be perfect. I treat all my projects like that as well. Ask Phenom, I'm redoing his light for the 3rd time because thee last two were not up to my standards! :chuckle:

But hey,..it's your lights...

theres no way in hell its gonna come out to be a g man.....im not looking for any of what you said

my bad if i wasnt clear enough,

-i already have the angel eye led rings, i bought them for 200 off of a site so just the labor price for opening the headlght installing and closing

-i just wanna paint the inside of the headlight, (i want all thats silver to be black) so that should be the price of the paint and labor

- removal of amber casing- which is just snapping it off

-the led strip is 14 bucks from autozone and around that price on oznium....soo 14 plus labor for that

i would have loved to just buy it pre made, however when i bought my halos, there were no pre made headlights and projectors wasnt even in the picture! haha

ya dude, screw paying $1,000 on some headlights. I baked mine and painted them and have had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS.... and this was my first time EVER doing it. the ONLY problem I have with my lights is not related to me baking them. an old Arab remedy to cleaning things is to use gas (lol figures arabs would use some form of oil) so I used that to polish my lights and it left tiny scratches or cracks. but my lights don't fog up or anything. you just heat them up, open them with a flat head screw driver and some work. then you paint them and when you're resealing them you just put it back together and silicone the s*** out of them. mine fogged up for about 1 week and then after that moisture was out, they have never fogged up again. total supplies cost me like $20 and a day or 2 of hard work. theirs a write up I did a while ago if you search the forums for it.

I was going to test my headlight seal with some texas heat and a constant flow of water.

The headlight I found for $30 on ebay was put up by some auto salvage place. One of the brackets that mount to the car was cracked/broken, but didn't matter to me because I wasn't going to actually use the thing anyways. And after receiving it, I could probably fix it was nice bit of epoxy if I wanted to.

ok so here's my thread. read through the whole thing and you'll be able to do it yourself... the cracks are from using gas to polish them, not because of the heat gun... I found out because I later used gas again (on the same light) and it caused more cracks lol I sanded it down and polished it so it looks a lot better... I'm too lazy to try and get all the scratches/cracks out. so just dont use gas to polish your lights and you'll be good lol

no matter how labor-intensive it is, $1000+ for a headlight mod is overcharging. For what ur asking, I'd say $300-$400 is fairer if u can find someone willing to do it.
