Managed to get her down the alley and just past my house until I heard TAK TAK TAK. Immediately back in the garage.

I think it's over already but I'll just have to come up with some new plans.

Yeah sounds pretty bad, and skates pretty violent. How was the oil pressure before hand?

She would idle around 20 but didn't check while driving, too low?

Sounds worse when it's your own car lol. Most likely it's time to part out the engine from what I can as I read about this. But I'd like to hear any hail Mary options if possible?

You have rod knock. Same thing happened to me after a fresh rebuild.

Hail mary would be to find an engine for cheap on Craigslist and swap it in.

I've got another car, '04 civic, but yes. I am completely ready to bend over for the road ahead.

these motors are cake to pull out, a simple walmart set of tools will be fine and and engine hoist. get a friend, bribe him with beer and bbq and get to work. you should be able to source another ka for under 400 bux, sometimes including transmission. you can always set your goals higher and save up for a sr swap or possibly something bigger/better. i never see the bad in car failure for some reason, its always a reason to upgrade.

^^ I really enjoy your attitude... When this happened to me, my friends were like "AWW FUX!! Sell it!"We need more people like you sir. But to the point...Like sebazztard said, they are very easy to pull. I pulled mine in a day, and it was my first time doing anything like that. Sorry for your loss and good luck for the future...

looks like a swap is in order for you, and i know that feeling you got deep in your gut when it started knocking. just do like i did and drive it until it locks up and then put another motor in.

Much appreciated. I'm going to attempt, largely emphasizing ATTEMPT, to rebuild her starting today.

Well what do you expect when you buy a non-running car? Prolly the reason they didn't let him hear the engine before he bought it.

All the sh*t he fixed to get it running could (should) have been done by the seller, live and learn.
