I am dropping a 1000hp motor in a S13, I am having the rear end suspension narrowed 3inches on each side to allow more room for wider Wheels. I checked into this after taking some advice from Nismo_Freak. The problem I am facing is that there aren't half Shafts that can hold the power with slicks on the car.

Has anyone any Info on Half Shafts that can handle that much power with slicks?

Thanks Nismo for the info, i will put the solid rear setup in my S12 I think that would be I crazy sleeper once it is done. I don't plan on cornering in that to much anyway.

Have you thought about swapping to a solid rear axle? A well built Ford 9 inch or something might be just the ticket. However, this will require some other supporting modifications and will most likely be quite expensive. However, the payoff is good...you can't beat a solid axle for drag racing ability.

Ahhh, so this isn't a pure drag car? That's what it sounded like at first to me :)

I dunno for sure. I would try to find out what they use on skylines that are built for that much horsepower. Top secret, veilside, etc. Maybe they could help you out.

In one of the previous Drift Tengoku magazines they were talking about 180sx being able to use Skyline half shafts in the back, but since I can't read japanese, I'm not sure what goes into that. I have heard about 1000hp skylines running around in japan, and unless they all replace their halfshafts with aftermarket ones, which I think is unlikely, then they are all using stock ones also. You might want to look into that possiblity. All I know is that the skyline uses the Star flange that the S14 VLSD uses, I think. Someone correct me about the star pattern, but I know it was a star.

The Half-shafts on the car can handle that power with street tires all day becuz the traction will break before the shaft, but with slicks on the car that shaft will be hit with a ton of stress.
