damn glad we don't get hail like that here. Wouldn't the carbon fiber hood be a bad idea if you get hail that bad? maybe you should invest in a good car cover

The 962's themselves aren't the problem... it's the 17x7's that you've got up front. Replace them with two more 17x9.5's. Then run 15mm spacers up fron and 25mm spacers out back.

225/40 or 235/40 tires, roll fenders and slam. Done.

I don't know if this is true or not... but I heard that XXR now sells a 17x9+20 962. Maybe look into that?

well the sad thing is i have a garage it was just full of stuff out of my storage building but cleared room for the car so she is safe.

its true they aren't that bad looking but yea if they have a 17x9 +20 it may be worth it but also i could get some P45R's for probably the same price and i think they look a little better in hyper black of course!

when a car is totaled the insurance company compares the value of the vehicle compared to the cost to repair there are set percentages (cost of repair/value of car) with the hail damage costing 3800 and the car being worth 5600 ( according to my insurance) it was beyond 50% of the cars value...if i had a brand new 2009 vehicle that cost 30000 then 3800 wouldn't have totaled it

Yeah, i think S13 owners are less likely to file claims in such a situation.

When he posted those pictures i could barely see anything worth claiming.Alas, a perfectly good car is now rolling around will a salvage title.

So you have a totaled car with a clear title.

<---- This man did not know that could even happen.

I didn't either... but it was deemed a total loss which in the event hail will not go against the title at-least thats what the insurance and the local dmv office tolled me.

You know what? My s13 has hail damage. I'm gonna see if my insurance covers that, upgrade it if it doesn't and the next time it hails, I'm gonna file a claim.

No way, dude what insurance company are you with and what do the premiums look like.

Cuz they even take pictures and stuff. Better yet, they let you total your car and keep the title as clear, which for the record has got to be illegal because if a car is damaged to the point of being a total loss getting the car back on the road needs a title change of Salvage or Rebuilt.

USAA man im just telling you what I was told who knows they could have said all of this to keep me with them... They have taken photos of all my vehicles that have modifications because the mods are insured as well...however, i thought that if a vehicle was deemed a total loss you had to have at-least a rebuilt title, but then again im just going off of what they told me.

When I got a repaint on my Zenki it only cost me an additional $500 for the body shop to take out the the dings and dents and there were quite a few of them along the car. The car was perfect when it came out of the paint shop! They did a really nice job! They took out all of the dents and stripped the car down to the metal, put on all Navan parts (which required drilling new holes), and painted the car for much less than $3800!! Someone is ripping you and/or your insurance off! Sounds fishy to me.

Here is some pics and you can see where the dents were being filled/fixed:

Amtk240, I saw the same thing ive taken it to a couple paint shops and they actually quoted less than the hail people nearly half of what the hail repair would cost

I'm an insurance adjuster in pa and they way they have me do it is to run value of car then have to run a salvage quote. actual cash value minus salvage value is the amount the ins. will pay to have car repaired. So as an example your car is 5600-(lets say car is worth 1100 salvage which is high because they don't factor in how rare car is or following a car has-usually car like that wold be about 400-600 maybe). this means 5600-1100=4500 in repair money allowed, seems to me the car should be repaired and not made to have salvage title.
