Hey guys, im not much for emotions but a few months ago a cried like a 12 year old girl who never got that pony she asked for, for her birthday! My pristine '95 240 SX was hit by armageddon sized hail and is COMPLETELY TOTALED! Im wondering what i should do about the dents on the roof of the car. Most are unreachable by PDR. What should i do. Bondo? I hate to go there but there's not much else i can do. Any tips, advice, techniques would be much appreciated! Send anything ya got to [email protected] , thanks, <<<Tom>>>

Can you remove all the interior paneling on the roof of the car from the inside, then use something to pound the dents out, got any pics so we can assess the damage?

I'll get some pix together today. I gotta warn you, it's definately not something you'll enjoy looking at. There are at least 5-6 HUNDRED dimples on the car! Some are almost a 1/4 inch deep! My brother's friend does PDR and he said he'd hook me up but it's still gonna cost almost $1200! and he said it would be perfect cuz the metal is to the point of "streching." I really appreciate the feed-back, <<<Tom>>>

My 95 i Q45 also got beat up in a hail storm and in addition to dents have a basketball size crack in windshield. But overall damage sounds less than your 240 SX. Still, PDR quotes are in the range of $2-3K, One guy says maybe $1.5K but he seems to be low balling compared to others. I had no comprehensive insurance because of only $6K invested in the car. I'm reassesing the value of comprehensive insurance at this point.

In trying to find the silver lining here I have decided that this hail damage makes my vehicle less of a target for auto theft. It also adds credability to my agressive driving behavior when opposing drivers contemplate that I have nothing to lose with respect to sheet metal damage.

That's a good point! I just hate the fact that im driving a big black golf ball. Maybe the dimples give me better gas mileage? I think not..lol. I just have liability. I can't afford full coverage at my age. Im only 19 so i pay $165 a month for take it in the butt liability! They said my rates would have gone up if i claimed it anyway...bastards! So im getting together some fenders, hood, and a deck lid for starters. All different colors but hey....gotta start somewhere right? It makes me sick to think when i bought the car it was PERFECT! no dings no scratches and origianl paint! The cars integrity is shot but i love it. Its my baby. As a 240 owner you all will probably know what im talkin about. Somethin about that car..........?

I've lived in Los Angeles for most of my life and I've only seen hail the size of BB's twice. I suppose that after you get those dents fixed, you'll invest in a car cover or a garage for your car. Tough break..
