Tonight in Minnesota we had a massive hail storm that swept across the whole twin cities area and my moms car got hit by something around golf ball size hail all the way up to baseball size hail and practiacally totaled the whole passenger side of the car and is going to need to probably all be replaced. In case no one has ever seen a hail damaged Versa I have pictures. I don't know if this is the worst but its pretty bad. The pictures don't show anywhere near the extent of the damage.Any questions just ask.

Paint chipped off and plastic chipped license plate dented and partially bent, I also own a black versa mine was fine. I seem to be about 3 minutes ahead of the storm the whole drive home.

Yep Well the good people at state farm are going to fix it pronto, apparently they are calling today a state wide automotive catastrophe due to the hail. It took about an hour to get a hold of someone from state farm to get a claim number.

I don't know it could be worse it could have been hit by a tornado.

I'm not sure about timing I was wondering if anyone has ever had hail damage on a Versa before. I mean obviously this is really bad espically when your a sitting duck in the center lane of a stopped traffic. But it sounds like all the panels have to be taken off and replaced. Anyone have any idea??

2 weeks after purchasing my car we had the exact same hail storm from what you discribe. My damages didnt appear to be as bad as yours, only receiving around 65 dings, but i have yet to get my car back from the shop. Last word is they have to replace the entire roof. The shop have had the car for 4 weeks.

I drove up to the shop and found it sitting in the lot, i guess waiting on the parts to come in.The hood was cracked open and it looked like the engine compartment got rained on sitting outside. The inside of the hood was damaged where they hooked in to do the PDR. I noticed a couple of high spots as well.My situation just seems to be getting worse. Before i start complaining, im going to give them a chance to see if they fix all this stuff. Since they didnt know i went up there.

I hate to hear this stuff being common, i hope everything works out for you.

I hope I don't run into the exact same problem, just a quick guess I would say that there is most likely 150+ dings from the hail that came down. The hood isn't that bad it is mainly the hatch on the back that cracked. I should defintley make sure that the damage doesn't get any worse through rain.

Thanks everyone so far, so far it sounds like it will have to get a full exterior panel replacement. I will let everyone know more when I do in case anyone else runs into this situation down the road, HOpefully NOT!

Holy cow! Just before the storm there was a loud siren around my area, Eagan(MN of course). I still decided to head out for an errand with the civic. The moment I heard the hails I raced back home. The hails that I saw in our area weren't that big. Size of a pea at best.

Sorry to see the damage on your car.

Have had experience with hail damage and insurance people before.....have family in insurance here in TN. Seems a common practice for insurance company around here to total car and have even been known to sell it back to you for 500 bucks. I guess it depends on company.
