You allll thought that cutting the headlight in half was the only way to open the lights. You had no faith, I am sure some thought no way it was possible, and when I told you guys I would do it, no one said anything. Well pics to prove that you can open your headlight without cutting it!!!!

just a shot at allll my project stuff.

So IT IS POSSIBLE to do, it just takes a hell of a lot of time and patience, I have been at it since about 2 A.M., and got it done about 15 after 10. I have the other headlight to do yet, BUT it will get done, and resealed with Butyl so that I can reopen the headlight by throwing it in the oven for seven minutes!

So now what do you think about me? Make sure to vote!!!

Oh, great and powerful one, please don't spite us for our lack of faith!

Seriously, though. Good work.

I just dont get the obsession with headlights. As long as they light up the road in front of me thats all I really care about. I applaud your determination and drive but I just don't get it.

I just have got to know - WHY did you opened them?

The REAL question is: how did you do it and can I just use a different sealant so I don't have to put it in my oven?

Because some people like to paint the insides (the surfaces not used as reflectors, anyway) different colors.

I'm with marley on this one...

reason being is that I am going to put HID projectors in them, which will benefit at night giving you better visibility without blinding others. If I was able to show you in person, you would really notice the difference! I mean just sit next to an Acura TL at night, or a Honda S2000, or Lexus LS430 at night, and watch the HIDs cover your light output on the road for their own! The beam travels far, and allows you to see MORE of the road, and is 10x WIDER allowing you to see the side of the road clearer!

Here are the HIDs I have on my car, nothing too fancy, just basic.

That is why I am doing this, the light output is unbelievably better that stock halogen. Please excuse the 2nd to last pic where one projector was slightly off on aiming, I was still getting everything lined up there. But anywho, you really should get educated on the subject, any questions, please feel free to ask me! Also please excuse my comments earlier, I was on a good one, tired, and adrenaline in me was going after getting that damn thing open after HOURS of hassling with it!

but cutting them is easier and takes an hour maybe? and if you want projectors so bad, just get the JDM headlights to start with.

yes easier it is, no argument their, BUT by doing it this way, you can reseal them with a different sealant so that you can open them over and over again for w/e the reason might be, all you do is heat up the sealant, and pop the lense off. Also the projectors on the JDM headlights are only single xenon, I will be using bi-xenon projectors for one HID projector, one bulb, high and low beams, while the JDM projectors use a halogen high beam, which is weak compared to HIDs. Also there are better projectors to use, which will work wayyy better than the stock JDM light.

Don't want to be a hater...

But it looks like you still damaged a portion of the outside... and instead of it being in the underhang, it's right around the outside... seems like it would be less likely to withstand the elements afterward...

then again, I'm not looking directly at it, so what do I know?

I think this is a BIG improvement over stock halogen, please correct me if I am wrong though . . . . .

Thanks to my buddy Hak I borrowed these pics from him.

Anywho, I hope mine will turn out great!

Very slightly bent, BUT everything will be cleaned up, and resealed, and will be good as new.

So would anybody possibly be interested in getting some custom headlights done? If there are enough people interested in maybe wanting a set done, then I will talk to AZHitman about getting an account setup to be able to sell just custom made headlights. Once I complete the Versa headlights, I will have an idea of about how much I will charge for the service. But money aside is there any interest from the fellow community in having this done to your headlights???

I mean, I wouldn't mind. HID would be awesome on the V. If anything goes down though, it'll have to be after September. But yeah, I'm all over that.

parts alone are up in around the $500+ area depending on what car the projectors come from, plus ballasts, plus bulbs, plus a custom wiring harness, and gotta make the headlight look good, so this is why I say I will finish this headlight and start thinking about pricing if people are interested.
