Okay, I came into work tonight to find part of the MCSE study guide set sitting on the desk. Apparently, they are for me to keep. The rest will be here in the morning. The WHOLE MCSE study guide set! My inner geek is jumping with joy. Mind you, they're not the most current set, but they aren't obsolete either. Reading material for the rest of the year. Or, at the very least, free toilet paper! And when I'm done with them, I can always start them on fire! Ahhh...so much happiness from books.

Anyway...I was excited..so I thought I'd share this with everyone.

Yeah, I was planning on taking it sometime in the (fairly near) future. But now I've got the books, so I'd be stupid not to take advantage. The books I have don't cover NT 6.0, though, and I bet that's a big part by now. But I've got a big advantage anyhow.

I hate tests though...I always suck at them. Even things I'm good at. I could take a test that consisted of "make a web page with a nav bar and simple content (text, three to four pictures, and links)" and somehow fail it...I just really suck at tests.

A buddy of mine went to the boot camp or whatever and he said it was a no BS cram session.

HO! I just looked in the back. The seals on the CD's aren't even broken yet...wonder where they came from...

This is great.

No BS cram session. My kind of test.

I almost went to the boot camp, but then I got sick of my boss, changed jobs, and went back to doing finance stuff, lol.

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. It's an industry-standard exam that is required for most networking and security related IT jobs.

Hey Doom, I gather from your reading material you are kind of handy around Microsoft products. I just bought the 2005 XP Media Center OS for my new box. Unfortunately Gates is a peckerhead and as a result I could only get an OEM version. Luckily my timely purchase of a $5.00 mouse turned me into a "system builder". I do detest these silly dances we have to do to get things done in life Anywho, just what am I in for buying OEM? I have always purchased retail OS' As long as it will activate and I can get updates and service packs from Microsoft I'm straight. I won't miss those late night phonesex calls to customer service if that's all I lose.
