Car: Nissan Versa SL with SVT transmission

Post

It was just one thing after another with my '08 versa SL CVT. Engine was making loud ticking noises while between 1500rpm and 3000rpm, the transmission was shifting with a clunk and jumping off the line even when the gas pedal was barely pressed. I got sick of hearing the clunking noises coming from the front end whenever i went over any sort of bump or turned past half way.

Its been in the shop numerous times and they replaced the strut bearings and the mounts and also replaced the o--o joints (i forget what they are called) but they say they almost never go.

I even tried doing a trade for another nissan (versa or whatever) and they said they needed to keep the car for a few days to make sure everything was ok. Well im not stupid! So i was able to trade it off and get $12000can for it (it had just under 100000kms on it) and get a nice new Hyundai Tucsan.

My warranty was about to run out in another 20000k and was not about to chance anything else going wrong or worse

It was nice while it lasted but I think this is my last post here. Everyone has been great and very helpfull with everything. :bow

CVT was shifting with a clunk? The CVT really shouldn't have been 'shifting' at all, so this strikes me as odd.

Sorry to hear of your bad fortune with the Versa. Is it just me, or is there a disproportionate amount of mileage/reliability complaints coming from Canada?

Good move. Pretty sure you'll even save on gas with the Tucson.

Good luck with it!!
