I went down to Solar Control of Jackson this morning to get the windows tinted on Project: MEEP. I got the $199 + tax deal with 35% all around. Paul (the owner) and Keith (the installer) allowed me to play in their shop all morning while Keith did the tint. Thanks to them for allowing me to play in their shop and ask as many dumb questions as I could think of. I thought I could do the tint myself after watching a bunch of stuff on the 'net, but after watching keith all morning I am glad I went to them. I planned to shoot a feature for NissanVersaTech about doing your own tint, but eventually didn't Tinting is such an art form that you really have to see it to believe, I just did some pictures instead.

I didn't know it until Keith showed up, but he is a Versa owner also. His ride was DARK. I think he said 5% on the side and back, plus 35% on the windshield. He had the grille, headlights, and tailights done also.

So once I got home, I had to shoot a couple extra pictures. I set my Spec-V wheels next to the car just to see what it will look like when I buy tires for them.

They both look good. When do you plan on getting tires for the SE-Rs?

When my 15" Contis wear out. I have 25k on them now, so maybe in another 6 months or so (~10k miles)? No need to toss the tires when I can still get some use from them.

If I have extra paint left over from the Spec-V wheels, I may tinker a bit more. I haven't worried too much about the steelies since I'm going to swap them eventually.

Dude, that looks awesome! Glad you finally got your windows tinted. Makes it look a lot better imo.

Keith's ride is well. SEXY! I want my Versa to be murdered out like that. I have been pondering the thought of tinting my headlights.

He said he had the whole headlight tinted but eventually cleared off in front of the bulb after almost driving in a ditch. The tint made it too dark to see.

That was my worry.. I figured it would obviously make the light darker, but didn't know how much it would affect it. I was thinking about getting HID's and doing it, but I still don't know.

I attempted to paint the housings black, but when I put the headlight in the over the back of it started to melt so I put a stop to that quickly..

I want everything to be BLACK!

Yeah, that's a beautiful car haha. What state is that in?
Here in California it's illegal to even tint your 2 side windows at all, so I'm only gonna go about 30% on them, and it's SUPER illegal to tint your windshield so I'm not even gonna try lol. I'll get pulled over in a heartbeat :[

BUT both those V's look SEXY :woot:

Can't wait for Spec Vs.
Great tint with tasteful mods makes for Great Package!
Will you tint your tails? Surprised you didn't when you painted the rims.
...or is that you with the different tails on order?

Probably not painting them just yet. The red in the tails matches to the NISMO stripes on the side. I may tint the tails eventually to match the windows.

Nope, not me. I know about the S-Tune in the US, but am waiting to see what the new bumpers that go with them cost. I have enough exclusive stuff on my car and I'm about out of money for my budget build.

I think your budgeted project is a great showcase of Less is More!
