I love this blue convertible.

This red one is an SPG. I got to drive it and can't really understand why all the reviewers call Saab's 5-speed "agricultural". The clutch was heavy but easy to modulate. Shifting was reasonably precise and easy to move through the gates. I see no reason not to convert to 5-speed when my auto dies. It was also clear after driving his car that I needed my turbo calibrated and my ABS pump replaced (the part arrived today).http://home.swipnet.se/danny/saabspg.htm

My mechanic has a set of these wheels for sale. Worth considering.

To my surprise, none of them are professors. One works for a chemical company. The other works for a mission.

We ended up pulling over. His turbo air duct came loose. Just had to tighten a clamp when we got to his place.

Went over to his place and checked out his collection of six Saab 900s. Some were parts cars, most were being driven by his family. Even the parts cars were running. Spent a few hours there enjoying some stories about how he bought each one and checked out his growing collection of parts and pieces.

So, that was my very enjoyable afternoon.

I ate a grilled chicken club with a side of macaroni and cheese.

I just spent 10 minutes on my local CL and I'm surprised at the "potential" out there.

Other than driving the Saab I'll bet you looked pretty out of place in that company.

Are you kidding? I think he fits in perfectly with a bunch of eccentrics.

Now i'm kinda mildly jonesing for a Saab convertible. Looks much more entertaining than say a 89 Chevy Cavalier convertible.

Yeah a guy his age fits in perfectly with a bunch of old white fogies.......a cop quickly passing by would probably think they're getting mugged by him.

I'd totally rock an SPG 900...The cars are really easy to work on too once you get used to their eccentricities.
