I have an idea for making some quick fun side money. For a physics project at my high school, I'm making Custom Speaker boxes for my 350W rear speakers, messing around with Bass and response Waves and Levels.

These woulde be Bolt on type Deals, and I am gonna try to make them Work with the Factory Bolt Holes and Moldings so that it looks more like the piece of the car, rather than a modification. My Goal is to make them removable so the car can go back to stock stereo Setup and not leave any price depraving holes or marks.

It would eb intersting to see whow it worx, I still havent done the Physics or any testing, just toying with ideas right now. I'd most likely make them come with Duramat Mounting Cloth, and would come with all hardware too. I'm sure they have to make these somewhere, but I have never heard of them or seen them before, except for stand alone stereo sytems for the house or concert use.

PS: I'd only have the boxes for 96 Grand Am and Nissan 240 S-13 when i first make them, and depending on how they do...we'll see.I'd prolly sell these on Ebay and at the local Performance store, just to see how they would be excepted by users.

So give me any advice or opinions, Id appreciate it ;)

yea, exactly, for some reason selling a car with Better speakers, decreases value? Its odd, but everything should be stock when sold(unless a specialty car deal) or the car loses value, even with upgrades. Stupid? Certainly. True? Unfortunately.

r u talking about just regular speakers or subs? my friend made a box for his two 12" audiobahns that has a plexiglass window on one side and the inside has mirrors on all sides and angled in some places for his wood shop project. it looks really good.

ya my friend is good at building sub boxes, but i don't really want subs, one they're kinda heave with the box and all, and two i don't need that much thump, lol

if your talking about a kindof small add on for low budget guys like 8" subs you'll need to look into having a built in amp and maybe built in line output converters to make them sell good. if you want to chat more,,,,,, check out some of the things im doing now and soon,, just do a search for me and my threads,

like a s-13 shaved rear bumper. universal led no bolt holes 3rd brake light, 1" cowl hood with ram air intake

No, no subs, i mean speakers, regular speakers. I have a set of 6x9 rear speakers that are excellent, but the bass kiks out a lil to early because the trunk absorbs the sounds somewhat. I'm trying to make an enclosed box for the SPEAKERS so that they act more like Home stereo equipment, better bass and level throughout, etc.

i talked to my physics teacher about it, and he says the boxes might be a lil on the large size, but we'll see.

you will likly find that it is just easier to upgrade to better 6x9 rather than doing a box, yes it will a some benifits but its sheerly up to individual taste,,,,,

like what to use, particle board or med. density fiberboard,, most everyone says particleboard, but some custom guys will go mdf,,,all up to taste

Well, My rears are brand new Pioneer 350W 4-ways, But I want to see if i cant get better response out of them, Kind of like a sub box deal, but with speakers. And yes, I'm looking into what material will not absorb the sound the most.
