I own a 1998 240SX SE, I had a transmission swap done w/ J30 VLSD, since I was told the AT ECU would work just fine, I decided to save a little money and kept it. Now it seems as though my car's redline is 4250 RPM, I mean it really screams at this point I can't even imagine trying to actually go for 6K. Is this the case with all 5 speed swaps?
Also, I had a pretty aggressive clutch installed, it seems that in 4th gear at around 40-45 mph, there is a rattle/ vibration coming from beneath me, can't really pinpoint it, I only hear it when I let of the gas at this speed, but if I put my foot on the pedal and press it in ever so lightly, it goes away. I've looked up reasons for vibration, and some threads said 'carrier bearing' other said it was 'backpressure', I really have no clue.
If someone could help me identify the sources of both these problems I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
