I gave Ubuntu another chance a couple months ago. Its functional and stable but not enjoyable.

DANG! You did the Hackintosh build that I've always wanted to do, complete with the Pro case and everything! Good job dude!

I'm an AMD fan, I have compatibility issue with Hackitosh :-(

I have honestly been looking at EFI-X. Plug it into a USB header and install an unmodified Apple OS without any hassle!

I tried to put it on this system:

MSI K9A2 Platinum
AMD 1055t x6
4GB DDR2
Nvidia GTX295
Dell Perc 5/i
4 640GB WD Blue in Raid 0
Asus BluRay Rom
Lite-On DVDRW

The Perc card is a no go. Only Apple raid cards can work... Really sucks.

I removed the card and had major pains with my graphics card and onboard audio...

Honestly, I'm not sure of the point though other then to just play around.

I really hope you aren't using the Mac version of steam. There have been many reports of ~25~50% FPS increase by running Bootcamp/Windows...

Well actually what happened is that the 10.6.4 update BROKE Nividia cards... it had some bug that cut OpenGL performance in Half.

I'm running 10.6.3 until they come out with 10.6.5 to fix what they broke.

I get 70 - 100FPS @ 1920x1080 4X AA

Honestly once you get over 60FPS you're golden... I only have a 60hrz LCD anyway.

I'm still going to dual boot Windows 7 once I get around to buying another hard drive. I have over 100 games on steam (holiday sales.. :yesnod ) and I need windows to play most of them.

coming soon, GTS 250 SLI and Windows 7 :ohno:

Gigatosh FTW

Took me 10 minutes to get tired of that "Awesome, Easy, Intuitive, Smooth, Pretty," OS. It has no WOW factor for me at all, does not justify that insane price tag for their computers. It's simply......"meh"

What makes an OS "enjoyable"? I'm not hating, it's an honest question. Aside from gaming, I wouldn't use an OS other than some flavor of Linux.
