I did not get the nav package and I am looking to find out if anyone is able to play movies and photos (slideshow) from the iPod when the car is NOT in Park + Emergency Brake.

From what I've read, no. Not so far. Also, from what I can tell, you can't use the iPod interface to output video to the screen, you have to use the 3 RCA plugs.

Okay, I should be able to get the RCA/iPod connection at a Radio Shack or something.

As for allowing the movie/slideshows to play while i am rollin' - does anyone know the hack for new cockpits??

Yes, I think its the same as the M and other Infiniti's. Under the parking break, there is a small plug that you can pull out which will bypass the park/brake.

I didn't see anything under the ebrake but I'm now assuming that it will take a bit of breaking into actual spot where the ebrake is? or is this even confirmed? i would really like to figure out how to do this lol

Hey All,

On Ebay there is an item for the 03-07 G35 and 06-07 M to convert the video while driving but it's not available yet for the G37. I've spoken with company and they are working on one for the G37 and it should be available real soon. The other models are only $199.99. so the G37 maybe a few bucks more. Check the link below for the part on Ebay.

i talked to my audio shop, he told me he can do it for me. its just gonna take alot of time. The easy way would be to ground it to the ebrake, but he said the problem is the ebrake light will always be on if u want ot play.

But the other way he said he could do it was to take off the panel and go from the back of the unit. From there I do now know how hes going to do it since hes been dealing wit alot of my friends custom system and my other fixed up 3 series. So I trust him. I ve been really busy recently so once i get done wit all my work I will have him do it to my car.

Anybody figure out or was successful at bypassing the ebrake with the input? This would be amazing if there was a way.

Hey all!!! I've tried disengaging the relay/switch under the E-Brake and then low and behold the monitor will not display anything. Also, i've tried driving with the ebrake engaged at the lowest possible level. The monitor will shut off again and you will also get the irritating sound prompting yout o release the brake. So i assume that there is some type of speed sensor as well as the ebrake switch..I've spoke to a well respected audio shop and they said they could do it but it will take sometime locating the right wires. If you find anything that works please put the word out...

My buddy has his nav bypassed on a different car... seems there are basically 2 ways it senses if your moving or not... first we know about is parking brake... 2nd which somebody mentioned slightly, was the speedo. both of these connections will probably have to be found and grounded.

just to let you all know, this is extremely illegal, and any shop caught doing this or implicated in disabling the video only in park mod can get heavily fined. so be responsible with it. the states and the feds are extreme about cracking down on that if they catch you.

(i did an aftermarket touchscreen install and had to walk a VERY fine line or get in alot of trouble with the cops. basically i got a model without the Tv functionality and the video function is not able to be viewed by me when its being run.

The illegal issue isn't an issue while driving as you can always turn off the source when pulled over - the problem is that most of the audio shops won't touch the video hack (in any car) as they will be implicated and sued by (end users, insurance company, and plantiffs) if it can be blamed as the cause of an accident.

Finding the way to do this and posting it in this forum is legal however - and it should be something any of us can do in an afternoon. This is great that we are trying to come up wit a solution.

The eBay version doesn't look like it will work for all scenarios as it did not include iPod's as a video source - which is vital for me - I have hooked up my 160GB iPod and want to push video the 7 inch monitor.

Cheers all

Can anyone find the electrical diagrams for the G37. This will determine the possible paths that can be taken to disconnect the leads in order to make the video work while driving. Is there a Haynes manual out for the car yet? These usually go pretty indepth of the electrical circuitry. If I got the diagram, it would be pretty easy to figure out.

For those that are interested in purcahsing a solution - I am comunicating to the company that offers the solutions for other Infiniti navigation hacks.

The responded to my question of a G37 specific product with: "Hi we have a unit its $325 shipped if you can get 30 people intrested we could offer it at $220 shipped. Thank You"

I followed with another mail asking for some promotional info that we could share with interested G37 owners.

More to come!

it looks like a mounting situation for the box - then then cables are standard - unplugging two sets in the car and plugging them inot the box and then placing the ones from the box into the outlets - thus being a the bypass for motion and ebrake issues
