Well, my site (http://www.naroni.com) was hacked sometime this weekend by an outfit that calls themselves TechTeam. They used an exploit in the My eGallery program to screw with our site. Didn't do anyting but change the indexes and destroy the control panel. I guess I'm posting this for 3 reasons.

1) I want to warn everybody about it. Dont use gallery programs.

2) I want you all to go to http://www.naroni.com. We modified the index they put on a little.

3) I know a lot of you guys are great with doing great things on computers (see the whole netsend topic), and maybe you know of these guys and would like to help us take a crack at them. One of our friends is qutie skilled in that area, but it can't help to have more.

We really just had the site to host videos and images and the like, and we had a growing collection of humorous videos i've found on here, such as the smart guy who enjoys car surfing, but we can't do much now that our cpanel is busted. These kids apparently used telnet to do their uber-1337 exploit, and we don't have any fancy protection since we figured who would bother hitting our site.

What I'm trying to say is can be paraphrased in this quote from Pulp Fiction.

Quote »....does he look like a *****?""What?"gunshot"AAGHGHGHHGHG""Does he look like a *****?""No!""then why'd you try to **** him like a ***** brett?""i didn't!""Yes you did, you tried to **** him. And Marsellus Wallace don't like to be ****ed by nobody. Except Mrs. Wallace."[/quote]

ya that's a backdoor , If you need any suggestions on security it's what I do for a living....

sux that you got hit but from what I see at my job small sites like yours get hit by newBz mostly , real hackers don't usually hack stuff like that.

I agree. And I do this for a living also. If you have any logs left, I might be able to aid you in tracking them down. The key is reporting it to the police or governing authorities. Then you can usually get past the ISP roadblocks you will encounter when tracking them down. Wouldn't it be funny to have a 14 yr olds house raided.

89240sx, we should chat sometime. Shoot me an email.

Where's Snellvile? (or is that Loganville?) LOL just kidding. You will definately be on the list for a gwinnett meet this spring. I tried to organize one before it got cold but it took too long. so i am waiting till spring to get it together. no one wants an outdoor meet in the cold anyway.

I live off of HWY 78 and Highpoint RD. ... so yes Snellville heh

that would rock to go to a meet but of course my car is pretty much stock and my belts are squeeling because I'm too lazy to fix it and it's cold.
