I assume that no one has really tried this setup, but if you could...

tell me why it wouldn't work?

Let's say you use a bigger(3.25 or 3.5 in. pipe), then why wouldn't this setup work? Sorry, but I'm just not a big expert on this whole hacked MAF thing.

i was ready to do this about a mont or two ago. from what i read that peoblem with going with such a large pipe would be the air velocity, or something like that, would change and not work to well. another idea would be to use a Y-pipe with the same size diameter as the maf and use 550's. what the hacked maf was first though of to use. im running 480's right now with a safc and z32 maf. even hacking the stock maf people like ::orion:: have it maxed out (5.1v) at 9psi, about 265rwhp. i think the hacked maf is great for 370's and lower boost but once your getting past 10psi, moderate boost to me, you should go with a better fuel system

Can the MAF be hacked on the S13, and if it is done can larger injectors be ran on the stock injector driver?

You can't really use the same method for the s13 DE maf. Look at the picture and you'll see why:

What I'm planning to do is "bore" that large hole that takes in unmetered air so that the total swept area is 37% more and allows the use of the sr injectors...

There's one member that I know of that claims to have done it on an s13. I don't know if this was on a sohc(the maf might be similar in design to the s14 maf) or a dohc. If it was a dohc, I don't see how he could have hacked it using the conventional method...

or another thing you can do is make a hole in the intake after the maf. increase its size until the idle is right
