So I decided to try to put on the tail light overlays myself.....big mistake. Complete and utter failure. For some reason I kept getting so much "slack" when trying to bring the overlay over the curves of the tail light. Oh well. . .

Also, another thing that has nothing to do with that, I have been seeing some G37s around more often, and I noticed alot of them have a little mini spoiler, similar to the stillen one for the A/Cs almost but they are always silver. Got me wondering, does anything think painting the stillen rear wing silver and putting it on a different color, maybe black blue or red A/C look good? I think it may look alright. Comments. The following link is a picture of what I am talking about

I guess its more of a chrome look, but that could be done somehow someway right?

Hmm...I've never noticed that either. I think it would be a complete and utter fail on our coupes. The top of our trunks are so pronounced (pretty much the only thing I dislike about our cars...) that something like that would make it stand out even more.

It definitely helps to have your friend you but if you don't you can do what I did, wedge the tail light against yourself and something else. You're gonna get slack and did you use a heat gun or a blow dryer when you tried to install it?

I just had the same epic failure tonight. I've done the install of the eye lids and mustache which were hell in themselves but this was a whole new level of hell... I had something to wedge the taillight against but I could never get the damn creases out of it when using the blow dryer, I'd just crumple it up in that crease so it made it very ugly so those overlays are now in the garbage can.

tail light overlays are TOUGH! but can be done with some extreme patience, a friend and a really hot hairdryer or even better a heat gun. when i did mine i also ended up the slack in the corners, so i ended up making "relief cuts". i just push all the slack to one spot, then cut off the slack and left just enough overlay to have a slight overlap and i made sure it was on an edge so that it doesn't show too much. can't really notice unless you look really close, like within 1 foot so i'd say not bad for a first try.

Don't feel too bad, my overlays wound up on the floor. I had the first one done perfectly but the second one simply would not work properly and eventually lost adhesion to the lights from me working it.

Oh well....
