does anyone know if there are any H9 or H11 bulbs avalible in the silverstar series , I know that Piaa has them as I have the H11 piaa's in my coupe for lowbeam, dealer installed them ( I wouldn't pay the price for Piaa's otherwise ) . The dealer inofrmed me that he could get the 9's but way to pricey $100 for 1 pair .

I don't think SS makes those sizes. Why don't you just convert to HID for a few bucks more? Way better light output than SS's.

Sure, why not. Bulbs are bulbs...as long as they're the correct type, you can put them anywhere.

I agree with Eric, you should def go with the H11 HID's for your low beams... they are 2- 3 times brighter than even the Sylvanias!

In regards to the high beams, as Shift said, of course they will work. But, how often do we use our high beams? That's a sure fire way to really blind oncoming traffic if you hit them with HID high beams. And yes, I know some cars come with standard HID high beams, but that just seems like overkill for something used, what, 2 -3 times a month?

Even with that said, I'm following Tyler's lead and getting HID's for my foggies... according to him and his pictures, those things are bad a**!

we have a selector lever for reason specificly oncoming trafficas for how often highbeams are used well I may only use them 2 or 3 times a month but where I live I may drive for an hour straight before I meet an oncoming vehicle HOWEVER I may have to avoid a collision with a moose ( 1000 lbs animal ) or a deer or 2 ............ there is times that there is more animals on the Highway then vehicles sometimes . So that is why I want as much highbeam light as possible

if you'll be using them for those reasons, then def pick up the HID's . The HID kits are very plug and play. Erci went with the X light kit, I have Xentec HID kits for my low beams and fog lights. You can get them for as little as 75.00 shipped off ebay!

Most of those ebay sellers are shipping from Asia so their shipping charges are the same worldwide. You can find kits for around $30 plus $45-$50 shipping. They sell the kits for cheap, but milk you on shipping costs so it balances out. Just look to spend around $75-$100 for a set.

I would like to think that my 5000K HID's put out more light than my factory high beams. I can't say for sure, but I really do think they are brighter.

Just found out about HID Lights. I don't like my low beams on my altima or I'm getting old with diminished vision capicity. I would like to go to 5000 HID lights but am confused, OLD, LOL. Can you just replace the low beam bulbs to 5000 HID's ? OR do I have to buy a wiring kit that suports the electrical requirements for those bulbs and rewire the headlights/ IF so what is the easyest package to install and from where can I get it?

Thanks Guys

I used the X-Light kit and Robert used the Xentec. Both are basically a plug-and-play deal; you just hook up the bulbs and ballasts. Hardest part is finding a mounting point. It's pretty straight foward. I made a how-to thread with pics and all if you need directions. Search for " HID install through wheel wells" and that'll answer all your questions.

Yeah, what eric said. Sorry for the late responses, my wife just had our first baby today 1-1-08....

ne way, I just followed eric's "how to" thread, and it was all good. Also, the Xentek's I purchased are mailed from the US.. actually from LA .. that's why I went with them over some of the others.. I just didn't know what to expect from the over seas kits regarding quality/returns etc. And even if the US shipped kits are bad quality, it'll be easier dealing with them then someone in Japan!

Congrats Robert!

I noticed your in SD as well, maybe I can check up your setup before I purchase my HID kit. I'm leaning towards the McCulloch's but if the Xentec's look nice, maybe I'll order those and save a Benjamin. I just purchased this car on 12/29 and already have the modbug. Haha.

OK GUYS, Thanks for the info. re HID install.some Q's re HID that came up when I read the posts and looked on the net sights. 1. IWhat is the difference between H9 and H11 ? is the H for HID and The # 9 for 3K and /or H11 =5000?2. What does the above mean?3. I read that the Bulbs are not exactly plug and play. what do I buy to make it the easiest to install in a 2004 altima SL?4. Read that 8000 will give U the Blues, lol. so I'm leaning towards 5000however, 6000 seem better than 5000, since it will give U Ultra white light.5. I'm passed the stage of "mod ing up the ride". I'm getting them to help in seeing better in the night. Getting older, LOL. Just don't like the lighting on my 2004 Altima SL. tougher to see than my Limo ride, NOT.6. read that 100 t0 150. are low end Quality products, 150. to 199. mid range and 200.00+ are high wnd Quality procucts. What are your thoughts. MC C , Xen, ect. what are U guys thoughts on them? Thanks for sharing your Knowledge Also, I hang in Harrisburg, PA

What is the huge selling point when buying HID kit to get the McCulloch brand or Philips? They are upward of $240 and more. Are the $100 kits on Ebay the same quality?

Probably not of the same quality, but hey, mine have been going for about 5 months with no problems whatsoever. For all we know, they could all come from the same manufacturer, just labeled differently.
