Suppose someone were to give you your choice of a new Hummer H2 or Cadillac Escalade, which would you take? And no "I'd take x and then sell it and buy a JDM-tyte Patrol" or "Neither. I'd buy a Titan". The reason I ask is that I work at a Cadillac-Hummer dealer and get asked this all the time.

My answer to that is that I would take the Escalade for my situation here, but an H2 if I lived someplace that I would be going off-road a lot.

So, H2 or Escalade and why?

Escalade, but I'm in Cali. Now if I was back home in Indy then easliy the H2. Not because of appearance but because I'd feel more comfortable in it during winter weather.

Escalade.

The H2 (IMO) is a POS (sorry Reep).

I'd have a supersharger on the Esky faster than you can say, "Wasssup dawg!"

Then I'd drop it on some BBS 20's and go hunting bunnies.

A black, debadged Esky with some black HRE's with a polished lip and a mad drop would be perfect.

Escalade.

H2s aren't really for offroading, and they're too big.. oh, and butt-ugly too.

Don't you need to put up a wall of subs in the back.

Also I would choose the escalade because it is a ride of elegance and a Hummer to me nothing but scrap metal on a Tahoe frame.

Escalade.

At least I won't be driving a soft poseur-boy-mobil which is for those who think that an H1 is too rough. And yes, I know that a H1 costs more than the Escalade and the H2, combined.

Definitely the Escalade.

An Escalade is an off-road capable vehicle that has been loaded down with luxury crap.

An H2 IS luxury crap that is masquerading as an off-road vehicle.

The H2 is great to look at, but it's already going out of style. I cant compare both interiors, since I've never been in an H2, but the Escalade I drove was a little bit on the cheap. The Caddy also gets better fuel economy, and unlike Hummer (whose sales are dropping like a rock), you know the dealership network will be around for a long, long (LONG) time.

I would drive a Escalade just because I'm tired of seeing H2s. My old girl friend had a H2 and I didn't like it too well. Also the 240 ownes both of em in the snow because it get 3 times better gas mileage.

How do you figure they're not for off-roading? They're not any longer than a CTS, so they're not THAT big. As for the butt-ugly part, well, that's entirely subjective.

Greg, your execution of the Esky concept is perfect, but mine would probably not be lowered, just due to the snow factor here. And if money were no object: http://www.caranddriver.com/ar...ber=1

1. They're dressed up GM SUVs, not even based on the H1 platform.2. Take a look at the control arms. If you can get a side-by-side of an H1 and H2 control arm, my statement will make a lot of sense... Basically, the H2's is a toothpick compared to the H1, meaning that heavy offroading that's expected of the capabilities of a Hummer isn't possible with the H2. 3. Morever, the H2 is really meant to be a roadgoing behemoth of overexaggerated testerone.

There is a lot more to a chassis than just control arms. Granted, it does have some parts in common with the Tahoe, but it is it's own vehicle. It is also an eight lug hub, not six as with the other SUV's. Heavy off-roading IS expected of the H2, which is why Hummer requires that dealers have four "Hummer Happenings" every year and be documented. We host these events with a wash truck on hand. This is also why the new Hummer dealerships will have test tracks on premises. Sorry man, but to say the H2 is designed to be driven specifically on-road is mistaken.

The H1 is a different vehicle and the H2 was not designed to be a carbon copy. Why would it be?

We are not compairing the H1 and H2 anyway.

H1 > H2

I would go with the Hummer myself, just for style reasons. IMO the stock wheels on the Escalade look silly after you see 50+ of them on 22's(or much larger).

The H2 in stock form looks the best to me. I would take advantace of its full potential also.

As for hunting bunnies well that can be done in a Chevette if you know how.

The 'lade would do, but you gotta have some "riiimmmmmz" on it in order to pass the JDM tyte inspection.....

Chevy SUVs arent bad at offroading... Theyre not H1 good, but theyre not bad for their intended market...

H2 is ghey IMHO, id go with the escalade... Neither I would want to take offroading personally...

Hello ladies! I'll say this, I've had more females say something to me in an H2 than when driving any other vehicle. Yes, even a first gen Q45...

Something to the effect of "Nice Hummer". *repo just bites his tongue*

wallet?

Hear of this? Hummer is now also a men's fragrance. They say the scent is a masculine combination of leather, sandalwood and a bald man's tiny ****. By the way, it's also a great cologne for gay guys. You put it on and before you know it, you're rolling over

ON this poll I'd go with an Escalade but in reality (if I were to own an SUV) I'd opt for a top of the line Range Rover.

Definitely the Escalade. Very sexy, especially in that Cadillac pearl or black. EXT.

I've never been a big H2 fan. I like the looks, but not nearly as much as the 'Sclade. Plus, I'll always be a Cadillac guy (after Nissan, of course).

Escalade

The H2 blows goats in my honest opinion.
