Hi everyone,

I was really confused about this but what are the differences with the H-tech and S-tech springs for a g35 coupe lets just say using stock shocks? Which has the better ride quality? is more bumpy?, handles better?.

Thank you!

Check out Tien's site. There is a chart that shows the difference between each spring.

I have personally used the S-techs. I had them on an Eclipse Spyder GST that was my wife's. I also had Tokico Illumina struts on the car set to 3. The ride was just like stock (but much lower) until you got into the twisties. Then the springs really stiffened up and worked well.

I don't think you can use aftermarket springs with stock shocks. The dampening rate/spring rates aren't compatible.

I, too, am considering the same question....with the addition of also trying to figure out if I should be considering the 350Z springs. I tried going on vendor's websites and looking to compare rates and liner vs. progressive as well as the amount of drop. Very confusing......

I have read so many different opinions....it's kinda like shopping for tires. While I want to lower my height between 1" to 1.5" I would like to stiffen up the suspension without sacrificing too much comfort.

I have also read that unless you are going to track your G that stock struts would be fine for a while.......of course opinions are like elbows........most people have at least one .

The question is which one is right???

I know that the stock struts on my I30 didn't hold up very long with eibach springs. I didn't track that car, but I did drive it pretty hard around town.

Anybody know how much difference there is between the G35 Coupe's sport suspension and the 350z's?

Perhaps a dumb question, but one I have not seen answered in the THOUSANDS of posts I have read.

Are there aftermarket struts that has handle the shorter travel for a longer length of time?

All I seem to see are posts about coilovers. Haven't really seen much on what struts go with aftermarket springs? Since I don't plan on tracking, a more cost effective package is attractive.

Generally speaking the Sport suspension for the G is the same as the 350Z, the difference being that the struts are .5" shorter for the Z.

Many people have swapped out just the springs with aftermarkets such as the S-techs...in fact our own CEO of NICO has the S-Techs on his coupe.

I'd say the most cost effective way to go is to do the 350Z suspension swap. You drop 1" for a sedan, 0.5" for the coupe and dont sacrifice ride quality while lowering center of gravity and improving handling, it can even stiffen it up a little if you dont have the sport suspension. Also a nice set of sways goes great with a little drop.

However, you can find just SHOCKS alone for our cars, or make different combinations of shocks and springs if you dont want to go for coilovers, but good luck finding the perfect combination. (take a look at Tokico D-specs for instance)

Does the 1" drop on the 350Z/Sedan swap require a camber kit or is it just springs, shocks, alignment and go?

i did the spring/shock swap and go...with alignment

alignment doesn't go 100% back into spec, but its close enough where you won't notice the difference. In the future you can upgrade it and be good. I still haven't done mine...

Have noticed any accelerated tire wear without the alignment 100%?
