Hi guys, I just bought the lowering springs from stillen and had a few questions. One of my friends told me that I should get new struts so that they don't blow on me. I was wondering what you guys thought about the whole situation?

Ideally, you should match your struts to the springs so you do not wear out the new struts prematurely. There are some sticky's in this section to help you find the answer you're looking for.

Alternatively, you can give Stillen a call and they can help you match some springs for your application.

That's correct...it's ideal to install compatible aftermarket struts/shocks with lowering springs. Doing so will ensure your car drives correctly and will prevent your OEM struts/shocks from blowing out prematurely. Lowering springs mated to OEM struts/shocks will make your car have a bouncing affect when you drive and significantly degrade its drive-ability---particularly if driving performance is important to you. A lot of young kids don't car because they are primarily going for looks/stance and will compromise this for drive-ability.

Yeh I honestly don't care so much about driveability, more so the reliability.

You've completely missed the point. The driveability equates to reliability. ;) Save your pennies and purchase a good set of aftermarket dampers to go along with the lowering springs.

I always recommend coilovers over springsThey are fully adjustable to your liking
