Is the "color temperature" controlled by the transformer or "bulb"? For instance if I want to go from 5000k to 8000k can I achieve this by replacing only the "bulb" or do I have to replace the transformer as well?

to the best of my knowledge and from what research i've done, you have to replace the amplifier as well and not just the bulb.

what im assuming you are talking about the ballast rite... you dont have to change the ballast if you want the 8000k bulb you just need to change the bulbs only. you have to wait until the ballast charge first then youll start see the bulbs getting brighter...

Yes ballast is what I meant. Makes sense. Thanks for your reply.
