I just got my Greddy oil pan in today. This thing really doesn't look strong at all. I havn't put it on my car yet but it's obvious it hangs down a bit lower then the stock one. Has anyone ever scrapped the bottom of the pan or anything? How did it hold up?

This is a real greddy too btw from CIP.

Do you want me to give you finite element analysis results on the Greddy oil pan? I can do this for lots of money.

Yes pls, from different speeds ranging from 3mph to well over 120. Then an impact test droping the pan from 25 feet all the way up to 100. Then try licking it...Did id taste just as good as the first time???

Pretty sure the guy wants to know if any 1 has bottomed out on the pan and how it held up.

Get ready to flame i dont care BUT SCC ripped a oil pan of their project silvia on the highway. Dont know if it was the Greddy but im sure it was an aftermarket aluminium pan. Needless to say after that they switched to a steel Tomei pan I believe. But i think with a lowered car that this is certainly something to consider. 7-Cities VA the roads are horrible... mainly the patches that run across the interstate. There pretty much black speedbumps

I can do everything you have listed above. Just give me what vehicle it is on. I would need alot more information regarding the suspension to do tests at various speeds. I am assuming that the oil pan will hit something when the car goes over a bump and while coming down hits a rock on the road or something. So suspension information is critical along with vehicle info.

The dropping part not so hard as all I would need is the weight of the pan which I can get very easily.

I just need someone to pay me $100/hr to do the analysis. I will start by CAD model of the pan then figure out a realistic force that will be subjected to the pan and apply it to my FEA model (which I can get from the CAD model).

Haha i can scan the oil pan for you and RE (reverse engineer) you a CAD file from the scan data in case you can't get it from GReddy. I work for a 3D Scanning company...

As i type i'm doin this exact thing for Coca-cola.

EDIT: Ironically I just got out of a meeting where i found out i have an oil pan coming in on Monday for me to do this too.

I've got one on my car and haven't had any issues with scraping. I'm happy with it
