I'm working out my 300zx rear/R32 skyline front brake setup and I have a question about the lines.

Did you use the 300zx hard lines (that mount to the caliper and sheet metal bracket) in the rear or front, or do the new hoses replace them? I'm thinking it would be easier to use stock 300zx lines with the 300zx hard lines and brackets rather than the 240 lines (which eliminate the short hard lines).

I scored a brand new pair of R32 GT-R front calipers for $130 on ebay and a pair of used rear calipers for $50. Now all I need are rotors, lines and pads. And wheels, of course.

You can use the 15s with a 1/2 in spacer...

As far as the lines, you have a couple options.. I used the 240sx conversion lines. The 240 hsa the same body side brake fitting as the Q, and they put a new fitting on the end for the Z brakes... The Q has 2 mounting points for the lines, the 240 only has 1. Personally what I would do, is get the Q45 stainless lines and cut down the bolt to fit.. This is probably the best way to do it, and thats what i woud do the next time around...

So the 240 conversion lines don't use the 300zx short hard line, right? I'll have to look under there.

Probably what I'll do is get some custom Earl's lines made. There's an Earl's store a few blocks from work and they can make anything you can imagine.

Well it kinda uses one... You detact any OEM plumbing from the caliper and attach this. Its got a little do-hickey on it that is sort of like that..... Its got a hard line that attaches to the inverted flare thing...that the other end attaches to the braided stainless line that I got...

Still, I would still recommend getting the stock Q45 lines in stainless (or just use regular ones, i probably should have done that now that I look back) and then cutting down the banjo.. It seems a more "ghetto" way of doing it, ubt I HONESTLY think its probaly the best way to do it..

However, if you do get some lines that use the dual mounting points on the Q for the front that go to the Z calipers, ill be interested in a set

OK I'll see what I can find out.
