Do NOT use goof off, it is petroleum based and will soften the clearcoat and expose your paint to the elements. GooGone, however, is citrus based and will not harm the clear or plastic bits of the car.08altima35 wrote:for the painted car panels try "goof off" or "goo gone" on a micro fiber rag. after wiping go behind it with the spray on detailer and hopefully it'll all come off. this happened to me when i went out to the track and it rained on the way home and the white shoe paint number flaked off down the rear quarter panel. did take some work, but it all came off without scratches.
