Buddy of mine had a silvia in japan. SR20DE motor and he had a similar thing happen. The bushing that the Thorwout bearing rides on was cracked and evenuially the bearing siezed on the bushing. He said that after he fixed it several other people mentioned either having the same problem or hearing of it. Did you replace the TO bearing when you did the clutch. Did you grease the bushing that it goes on?

oan and did you (do you have to) bleed the clutch lines? also the parking break could be siezed if the car has sat for a long time with it on.

Throw out bearing was replaced when the clutch was replaced and greased before installation as well as the clutch. When I was swapping engines I unbolted the slave cylinder off of the transmission. No air was ezposed to the line. Unless unbolting the slave cylinder always requires bleeding afterwards. Also the e-brake is fine. The car rolls in neutral but when put in gear it will not move (when the clutch is down).

Ok how about this?Wrong Flywheel (the SR one is flat on the transmission side)Broken ClutchExploded transmission. I'm assuming you put fluid in the transmission before you drove it and remembered to plug the drain hole back up and stuff. (i know i know but i gotta ask)

I really don't like any of those because they are all hard to fix but the whole thing about the car going backwards isn't a good sign...

I never even had the chance to drive the car. The transmission has fluid. Now the flywheel could be a possiblity, but wouldn't it have been a ****** to bolt back on if I put it on the wrong side?

humm... i don't htink it would be that hard to just put on backwards didn't even think of that to be honest. I was more thinkin' like maybe it's just the wrong flywheel. Like some Flywheels have an offset sort of thing. The bolts go into it and the actiuial friction surface is raised a given amount above where the pressure plate bolts go. I'll try to post pics of what i'm talkin about tonight when i get home

That's why you buy a front clip, start her up before you taking her out and put her in a new home...like me.

I noticed there is a black cap by the alternator...where does it go to? The redcap under the fux box goes into the alternator right? Hmm...

My swap is pretty much finished, I am just waiting for my harness to come back and I need to figure out which vacuum lines go where. When I can take pics later this week I'll post them and maybe you guys can help me? The ones I need to connect still are all around the intake manifold (2 under the throttle body, 1 big, 1 small, and another behind the intake manifold pointing backwards, also big.) Oh and sorry for jacking this thread, I should go start a new one for my swap.

Hokiruu...the sr swap in your s14? If so, AIM me or email me...we can share some experiences about it. I got the harness all hooked up, just needed to connect the vaccum lines (which i don't know **** because I didn't take the motor out) and the intercooler.

Yeah, we are about at the same point I guess. I didn't remove the engine either, so I have no idea about the vacuum lines. My Blitz LM intercooler has this bung with a fitment for an included hose on the #2 pipe on the hot side, but I am not sure what it is for. Obviously its a pressure line, but to what? Boost gauge? Boost controller? Anyone have an idea?
