Gutting your interior is STUPID and POINTLESS unless it's a full track car. You'll barely save any weight and it'll be super loud and annoying.

Trust me, even the backseats and carpet absorb ALOT of road noise.

stripping is for pole dancers and track cars, keep the interior

From experience I know that gutted interiors are @#$%ing loud even with a full face helmet.99.9% of use are rocking the full interior.I gutted just my trunk and it makes a really noticeable difference, so much that I'm considering sound deadening it.... Bright side is there's plenty of room of extra cargo and my Optima, and I can adjust my coilovers without taking off the panels

ive been slowly gutting mine. it was just the trunk, then my rear deck crumbled when i tried to remove speakers for repair, so thats gone, and i just took the rear seat out the other day and it has more road noise. its not enough to bother me but i havnt removed sound deadning yet. that will be the true test.

just keep all the interior you take out and if it bothers you, put it back in

I daily drive a fully gutted S13. I have done it for about 3 years now. I DD and track this car so it is used for both. Yes, it is loud. If you have an aftermarket exhaust its really loud. I dont care. I love it. I daily drive an S13 that is slammed to the ground, gutted, welded diff, loud exhaust, Bucket racing seats, and I removed my CD player and speakers. It just depends on the person. If you are worried about it being loud, dont do it. I enjoy feeling and hearing my car. Im just that kind of person

I can see your point. When I was 16-18 and was DD'ing my old Integra, it was absurdly loud in the cabin and I loved it.

I have a totally stripped intrerior and its LOUD. Its not just the exhaust noise, but it seems like it amplifies every noise, lil peebles getting picked up from the tire banging against the frame.

I would not do it if its your DD. But regardless of the noise I love driving her.

Okay I'm gonna chime in here. I currently have removed the following: Backseats and all related seatbelts Trunk carpeting and privacy cover Soundeadening Heater core and all HVAC ducting (including engine bay) HVAC controller RadioI'm running an SR with full exhaust: Greddy o2 housing>Greddy downpipe>CATCO Hi-Flow CAT>Greddy PEII exhaust. I DD my car and it's quiet enough to have a conversation in my car @ normal levels.

Before that setup I ran full interior (in a different S13), nothing gutted with full exhaust, no cat no resonator and that was way louder than I am now.

So with my setup it's tolerable and not annoying to me at all.

even with the back seat down its loud. I'm definitely going to gut it later down the road and sound deaden it. For now, leaving as is and cencentrating on engine/suspension work.

don't do it unless you are really committed to doing it,i will be driving my s13 coupe with no a/c,no heat, headliner, carpet, plastics, just door panels and dash.but spend more time doing other things to the car that will make it perform better.leave the gutting for last.

good idea bro! i stripped mine from front seats back, it wasnt that loud but then again i kinda enjoy hearing my car. i ended up moving and forgot to take all of my interior panels with me. all i have now is the rear seats, no rear carpet, and no panels. but it isnt that bad, seeing as how im always blaring my radio it kinda evens everything out. i deffinatley regret leaving my interior behind now tho. im glad u arent makin the same mistake!

My 240 is empty.

I'm a minimalist when it comes to cars. The gas mileage is awesome.

My car is gutted in the rear and it's not THAT bad but I wouldn't suggest doing it.
