When I first heard my "transmission rattle" I first described it as water running through a pipe (swooshing), at least that what it sounded like to me. But as it got worse, I must say now that rocks in tumbler is a better description.maverick_rogue wrote:I hear gurguling noise while stopping or while slowing down. Sounds like boiling water in a kettle. Could this be infamous transmission issue? I am concerned. I am taking refuge in the fact that I have a FWD but ....Dealer says can not duplicate the issue and I can come back once I can duplicate it at will...
Does some one have a sound byte for the transmission issue ?
And was it the typical symptoms...mostly at parking lot speeds and on deceleration or slowing down?kcfm wrote: When I first heard my "transmission rattle" I first described it as water running through a pipe (swooshing), at least that what it sounded like to me. Don't take refuge in the fact you have a FWD. So do I and I am in need of transmission #3. You MIGHT be able to take some refuge in the fact you have a 2009??? Although I do believe there was one person with a 2009 with the transmission rattle.

Good to know....thankskcfm wrote:

I get #2 and 7...the rest i dont really get.maverick_rogue wrote:Honestly, Reading so much about this transmission noise issue and realizing Nissan is doing precious little about it has taken fun out of driving Rogue.
My ears are always tuned in to hear every little noise and waiting for the transmission noise bomb to explode anytime.
I had my six monthly health checkup done and my doc feels I actually have improved my hearing. I guess I can give credit to Nissan for it. They gave a near perfect car and then gave traany issue for everyone to worry about.
So far I have noticed following noises
1. Tapping Noise (sounds like Rocker Arm with high clearance) from engine appears mostly during cold weather.
2. High gear vibration and Noise during acceleration (We know its a designed feature to save fuel)
3. Slight gurgling noise which appears at times but I can not duplicate at will
4. Vibration and noise coming from rear and that shakes the passenger side seat like a California Earthquake when I stop at traffic signal.
5. Squeaking noise from Seat Belts
6. Squeaking noise from Front brakes at times specially on a rainy day.
7. And yes on a rainy day (I am sure it could happen in snow as well) noise coming from trunk area.
Any idea on #1 ,# 4, and # 5 fellow Rogue owners?
This was answered in the Official Rogue FAQ: Engine Noise (tapping)maverick_rogue wrote:1. Tapping Noise (sounds like Rocker Arm with high clearance) from engine appears mostly during cold weather.
I cannot comment on this one. I actually never sit in the passenger seat of my Rogue as I drive it 99% of the time. I will comment however that the Rogue's 2.5l 4cyl motor will never be as smooth as a V-6 or V-8. It's a large displacment 4cyl and has a very long stroke vs. bore.... it will never be smooth despite the balance shafts and extra vibration isolation Nissan has added to this motor over the years.maverick_rogue wrote:4. This does happen to meWhat I found is that for the rear sit, the passenger side sit does not close(when you move the side up and lock it) all the way, so I can still shake the sit a little. But there is nothing wrong with the driver side.maverick_rogue wrote:4. 'burping' the cooling system on the QR25DE usually involves raising the front of the car on jackstands, removing the rad cap, and running the car for 30-60 min. Make sure you replace any lost coolant.maverick_rogue wrote:So what did you do to 'burp' it?
I was looking thru your list for the sound I hear. Didn't see it. Guess we can add it to the Listmaverick_rogue wrote: So far I have noticed following noises
