I'm all dressed up, freshly showered, and ready to head to the airport and take my month-long vacation overseas. I copied all my movies and TV shows to the laptop and scrambled to buy headphones and books in time for the trip. Turns out, I'm AN ENTIRE DAY EARLY.

I called my mom at 3am (thinking she'd and the rest of the family would be packing) to check in and ask what time she wanted to meet up. It turns out I'm an entire day early. For once, Gulati Standard Time places me ahead of schedule. I'm glad I called first, because I was about to show up at 3am and bang on her door yelling "HURRY UP MOM YOURE ALWAYS LATE."

I also unnecessarily woke my brother out of bed:
"HEY JASON WAKE UP"
'what?'
"LETS MEET UP WITH MOM"
'huh?'

This is sometimes the dilemma of self-employment. Sure, I don't have to answer to anyone directly or follow a set schedule, but it also means every day of the week feels the same.

Just remember to "fall back" when the time comes.

One morning back when I was in high school, I woke up to my alarm as usual. I felt surprisingly refreshed and took a shower. It was the time of year when it would stay dark outside until 7:30 or so. I got out of the shower and went to go have breakfast but couldn't find my parents. They were still in bed because it was about 4:30am. Still don't know how my radio/alarm got so outta whack. I got to go back to sleep again for another couple hours! Whoops.

I've showed up at job sites an hour from home a day before I was actually scheduled to work.
Not cool man.
