i am sadly to say that i am probably the first one in the U.S to crash an Evo8. Yup you did not hear it wrong, i crashed an evo8..=(

well anyways i was working, on my way to bring the car back to the lot, made a right turn, tire start slipping, car fish tailed, couldn't catch it back and smash the front of the evo8 to the side of the altima. Guy claim he have injury but alot of people think he's bsing because everyone saw he was ok untill later on he just start saying he's hurt.

Ok here's the question..i was working when the accident happened, so i am covered by my company, it also had the dealer's plate on. But i am planning to quit soon and i dont' think this whole thing will settle before i quit, so if i quit before it is settle can the company some how say i don't work there no more and don't cover me no more and push all the things to me? like insurance, damage bill and etc.?

i don't think they can do taht because the vechile was insured by the company(the cop came and took all info down) during the accident but i'm just asking so if anyone that really know can give me some opinion. Thanks

Insurance covers losses generally based on the date of the loss. In other words, you can get into an accident then cancel your policy effective the next day and the policy would still cover the accident since the policy was in effect on the date of the loss.

Probably it was raining, floor all wet and i gave too much gas and it just start slipping. Well i feel like **** right now, it's been a long day. Sighz~

Nope you dont hold the record, sorry. A black Evo8 got totalled a few months ago. The owner's wife was driving it down a dirt path, lost control, rolled over and/or hit a post. Saw some pics of it in the salvage lot; it was TOTALLED. Forgot exactly where it was, but it was definitely in the US.

Your company's insurance will cover you and all cars involved in the collision up, down, and sideways. This is a car dealership's insurance we're talking about... not some cut-rate discount insurance outfit.

he *should* not hold you liable since the company insurance is covering the car you were driving.

if you think about it, why would he want to sue you?? your employer and their insurers are the ones with the big dollars. most people, when they feel wronged and are seeking to take legal action, are usually counceled to go after the big dogs who have the big cash, not the lot kid(no offense, after all, you're the one driving EVO's) driving a for sale car.

HAHA...funny dude! That tells you next time not to mess around with other people's property. Next time raining or not, drive slowly as it's not your car.

Just for insurance though...stay with the company until everything is settled.

The insurance is the liable party as you were covered during the time of the accident and it was specifically on company business. And if it is a dealership car that is to be delivered, I'd imagine the buyer would want a new car rather than accept a repaired one. And if that is the case- find a friend with enough money and tell them to make a really cheap offer on that repaired car...Hey it could work.

Yep, insurance will cover. Don't worry. The thing that concerns me though is how easily this evo lost control. Thought it was supposed to be better than that even without the AYC and fancy diffs. Either you were driving really fast or the car sucks dude. What's the real story??

My friend was the first person in washington to damage a lancer evolution 8.

He kicked his back end around and caught a curb, cracking the bumper cover and scratching the paint. The guys at the Mitsu dealer all made fun of him.

the fender is light as ****, could have picked it up with 1 pinky. all the other parts are light too.

and guess how much is 1 head light cost..-1400 buck..god damn!

I'm with everyone when they say that you're pretty much safe. For one thing, why would the guy choose to sue your broke @$$ (no offense, but that's usually the case with us working people, including me....sigh) over the possibly million $$$ dealer??? If he was STUPID ENOUGH to go after you, he'd then realize that he can only sue you for all you're worth, which (no offense, AGAIN) is no where close to the settlement/compensation check he might get from the dealership. (That's if his BSing pulls out another couple grand or more)

PS - I'M JEALOUS~! I wouldnt mind driving an EVO, no matter which version or w/ or w/o all the rally bred stuff from JAPAN. CARS ARE SWEET~!

I worked at a dealser too (sales, just like you probably).A kid I worked with crashed a Cabrio in the lot.Dealers insurance covered the repairs, but dealer tried to come after the kid for their deductable.Kid fought it and dealers lawyer said it was dealers problem, not his.So you could have a hassle with dealer but your not responsible, its their insurance and their car. Thats why they have it.And dont worry about quitting, you were insured when the accident happened thats all that matters. You could have quit when you got back to the dealer, haha that would have been a kick in thier sweets.

Dont stress it man you got nothing to worry about.

BTW nice Evo kill....How the hell do you drive your 240 and not die j/k :)

Justanother240, I asked some of the attorneys that I work with about your situation and they also told me not to worry about it at all, it had nothing to do with you since you were working at that time. The company will cover everything and should do you no harm.

I cant recomend sales to you, sure the $$$ is good if your a scumbag and dont mind totally screwin people over (why I stopped).

But, even so, the hours suck, and there is no job security.

Stick with the honest work....trust me ive dont both and sleep better at night making less money.

One week I took home $1300 but i totaly reamed a nice old couple to do it and I still feel bad about it.

anyway, off topic
