wow, I was thinking I had lots of KM's 167 000 kms! Nothing compared to you! Any other major probs? Do you have a CVT?Are you using up any oil between oil changes?

I have regular auto. Change oil about every 10k miles. Not burning it though. ONly big thing i have done is replace the O2 sensors and the cats.

I run synthetic. Not to mention in europe they dont change the oil nearly as often as we do here. Its all part of the oil company conspiracy to change every 3k. The alternator actually took a crap while I was driving so now its in the garage waiting for the new one to arrive. Luckily the rental place had a versa so I can still drive one.

Mine may need replacing to a bigger one if better ground points and new battery do not fix my RPM's from dropping to low.

Mine does that too! It causes my car to shake! I was thinkin about getting a bigger alternator but I heard that it makes you have worse gas milage.. don't know if thats true or not though...

Couldn't we just make some extra grounds?

exactly the same happens to me. Upgrading the wires to 0 gauge is the cheapest and easiest to do so I will start there.

bigdaddychia,

How many miles when u had to replace the cats? What were the symptoms? Were you the guy posting about the exhaust shops not wanting to work on your car? The search function is horrible on this site, so I have to ask here.

Talk about SUPER-Overkill.

4 gauge handles around 150A. 0 gauge does 300. I KNOW your alternator is not putting out that much current. And I'm pretty sure your system isn't drawing that much current either.

Have you guys looked into reseting the idle?

I need to jump back with another tester for the grounding kits to see if there's a need on the Versa. But I know for a fact that 0 gauge is way overkill.

I have 3 feet of 0 gauge wires laying around so I will use it up.

We still need to do an article on this car. I'm pretty sure it's the highest-mileage Versa built.

I did 2 out of the big three with 4 gauge wire. Still need to wire the alternator to the battery..but the positive battery terminal on the Versa is full of fuses. It'll be a pain in the a** to switch out.
