I just drove around....a beautiful, black GT-R Yes, that GT-R.Nissans pride and glory.Steve should be driving it later on as well. I think. But its not about him.I felt its power. I felt its (quite comfy!) sporty seat caress me. I felt its personality. My arms still tingle. My butt is still flat from the powerful acceleration. I WANT ONE.

in all seriousness, HELL MOTHAF***** YEAH!!! Steve may not, since he decided to drive at triple the speed limit. To his defense, he was only accelerating for 4 seconds. But yea, if I had the money, I would definitely own one. One of the worst things about it is what makes it great. Its a Nissan. I can change the oil myself, drive it anywhere, anytime. Its nothing odd to drive, it would be reliable, etc. It really is comfortable. Yes, its a little stiff and loud, but its a FREAKIN 485HP SUPERCAR. I've driven a Dodge Viper, and that thing became annoying after 20 minutes with its incessant and intrusive noise, stupid crooked/offset steering wheel, and uber long hood, among other things. I drove a Ferrari 360 and it was way too twitchy and also became a little uncomfortable. So as far as what it is, you can literally use it as a daily driver, though it would be a weekend car for me. I'd have a small suv as my dd.

They removed launch control. People were trashing their rides.

The only thing about owning one is you want to put aside like 5 grand every year for future maintenance. Those huge mega awesome brakes are pricey. And the super special transmission fluid is $50 a quart. And full sythetic racing brake fluid is $30 a quart. But more than likely you'd only put 5,000 miles on it per year (if you'd drive it like I would)... so it would be a few years before you need to spend that.

Nice. I always loved the idea of the GTR. Good daily driver. I just don't like the idea of a $$ for any parts. It would be a damn good all year around car.

I think if I needed that much power I would just TT the G35/37X and be done with it. It would be really close on the 1/4. I can leave with the handling as it is.

unless its something critical, the GTR parts really arent expensive. For example, the side skirts, all of them are black on all models. If you scratch it up, a new one is $350. Imagine that. now, a turbocharger is $4580 but thats unlikely to fail unless you're an idiot driver/owner. But generally, its not super expensive or anything.

Got passed by one on the Toll Road home the other day. The guy was movin' and passed me up pretty quickly. The damn thing really does sound like a fighter jet when it screams by. Such an incredible machine. I was so envious/inspired I calculated the payment on a new one if I traded in the G.... If only...

I'd hit the track at least once a month. Maybe more frequently when I perfect the driving and get the most consistent sub 12 second runs

i'm really looking at that car, the maintience on it is what turns me off... as i know i would actually use it as a daily driver for the most part, like friday, saturday, and sunday it would probably always get driven. which would rack up the miles real quick.

spending $3k-5k in maintience a year turns me off for any car... regardless if i can afford that... i personally dont like how nissian and other companies inflate the cost of ownership on purpose... its elitist... i feel that i should only have to buy the car once. after 4 years of owning a GTR you will have about $20k more money back to nissian on a car that is dropping value with every start of the engine... sorry for the RANT...

well regular maintenance won't be expensive at all. Just a few more dollars than your G. What will be expensive will be critical components, like trans flush and brake flush at 50,000 miles, and other items like race spec brake pads. But anyone with $85,000 to spend should have no problem with other items. An Audi R8 cost $30,000 more to buy, yet has a cost of ownership TWICE that of the GTR. Compared to other supercars, the GTR is the cheapest one to own.

+1 We help a little. We'll chip in. LOL

Greg should do this for Nico members. Over 130000 members. Everybody chip in a loonie a month and we do a draw. Who win gets the car. The rest of the money goes to charity. Nico would be close to 200000 in few months. It would be good for the site and good for the members too. Talking about bringing trafic to Nico.

It's a win win situation.

i hope you know that you just drove one of the fastest production cars in the world. hence why Motortrend chose the GTR to participate in the battle against the GT2 Porshe, the 599 GTB Ferrari and the famous ZR1 vette.
