I know know this may not be the best thread ever, but any help towards finding the size of these wheels would be great. I have been looking for pictures/specs of Te37's with the concave look and rbsileighty posted up these 2 pictures the other day and it got me interested in this car. Cut to the chase, here are the 2 pics along with the size chart. Or maybe a better question, if I wanted to run 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear with 20mm rear flares and a rolled front, what would be the ideal offset, that also gives the wheel the concave look

UPDATE: let me rephrase this. If want to run 18x9.5 rear +12 with a 255 or 265 tire and 18x8.5 front +22 with a 225 or 235 will I still have the concave look like the wheel below and how much work will it be inorder to get these wheels to fit on a S13. If the rears are too wide, flares would not be a problem, and for the front would a roll be sufficient enough for clearence. On stance AL+ coilovers just for reference.

Wow I suck and making threads.

Well. The wheels are 17 in the front and 18 in the rear for sure. Its very hard to tell unless i see what size over fenders he has on the car. So be aware of that, thats not stock guards on that car, front is a possibilty to be stock, but if it is, has a nice size pull on it.

But i can make an educated guess...

front: 17x9.5 +12 <Most likely or 17x9 +0... doubtful its a 17x9 +15rear: 18x10.5 +15 is probably it, maybe +22

No you won't have any concave, at least nothing noticeable with a 8.5 +22 in the front.

I think ideal for you would be close to what these pictures are

17x9 +15 would be decent, and shouldnt need much work to fit the front. Just a roll and should be good, even without much neg camber.

Stock rear: 18x9.5 +12 with a smaller tire. A 215 or 225 aybe 235 needs a minor pull. 265 will need a large pull, thats getting into crease of death territory.20mm overs:18x10.5 +15 would look the best with a stretch, depending on how your 20mm fenders look, the +22 might be the safer bet, but i don't like dealing with over fenders, so don't take my advice on the overs too seriously.

Many thanks for your time and trying to understand what I was getting at. After spending time looking and pictures and sizes I believe I am going to go with 18x9.5 +12 rear with a 255ish tire and either 17x9 +22 front or 18x8.5 +22 front. with a 225-235 tire.

Just off topic, whats the big deal in streaching tires. I figure if you have 10.5 inch wheel you are going to want to run something larger than a 7 inch wide tire on it. I mean what the hell do I know. I can understand a little streach, but some of you people out there are just crazy.

There is really no big deal, some people like to stretch, some people need to stretch to fit a certain wheel under the fender, sometimes for looks sometimes not.

Stretching also stiffens the sidewall, which is good for controlling your car in a drift.

Its a love/hate thing. but like you are asking, you want concave... so you have to run bigger width wheels which requires a stretched tire on stock guards... or to get over fenders.

Oh and

people are poor, smaller tires = less money.people use stock engine for drifting, baller sized wheels but can't spin the appropriate tire sizes for the wheel, not enough power. So a smaller tire is easier to spin.

2 valid points... I never thought about it like that.

So maybe 245/??/18 rear225/??/17or 18 frontI don't think that would be a problem, do you?

These wheels 18x9.5 +12 are "kinda" concave sorta the look I am going for http://img.photobucket.com/alb...a.jpg

Are you going to try to run 18s up front too, or what??

Your just gonna need to pull the rear quite a bit with that tire size, especially if you don't want to run alot of neg camber.

heres a good pic to show you what your working with...

17x9 +15 215/40 18x9.5 +12 215/40

pulled a good amount in rear with a good amount of neg camber (no RUCAs), front just rolled with close to 0 camber

Still up in the air about 17's or 18's in front. 215 tire, that seems skinny as all get out considering stock they are 195's on a 6.5 (i think) inch wheel. But again, I guess its the look.

As far as rear camber goes, the car is and will be a driver, so tire friendly camber is a must.

My goal is for about 300ish wheel, is running a 215 with that power even practical if you want a moderate amout of traction. Im not really all into the drifting stuff, more cruising and just having some fun. I don't know, I think I would have to see the tire inperson or even just drive the car to see how it feels with that much power and that "small" I guess tire.

If it makes it any easyer, can get me on aim at the same NICO name. I won't be home for another hour, but I would enjoy picking your brain and seeing what you know about this subject.

Thanks again,

Bryan
