Well looks like the day has finally come (or soon will). After taking much longer than i anticipated originally, my motor is finally in. Hoping to fire it up for the first time this weekend. Just want to say thanks to this forum, a bunch of great members, the SEARCH button, etc. Big thanks to Jon, Jason, Jody, Jimmy, hey all J's and i'm sure i'm missing a few others.

All the work minus raw machining was done by me and a couple buddies including engine assembly, valve clearances, etc. in a residential 2 car garage.

bought the mck mount kit (which fit like a dream, thanks mack) and did the wiring myself.

had a shop make my downpipe (ended up being practically a nightmare... hope it fits)

everything funded by my dear paychecks, no sponsors, no parents help. TONS of resarch, tons of waiting for parts, countless hours of wrenching/breaking sh1t and customizing.

theres still a ways to go before this show gets on the road, but its getting much closer now that the motor is "in"

i've taken down the pics.. ppl who would like to see can email me.

Sweet deal man. Yeah I definately know the hardships. I'm sure your car will be a beast when its done. It's good to see the progressive pictures. Gotta love that rb26 man I wish I could make that power out of the box. Keep us updated. What kind of internal mods are on that block?~ANDREW~

Hell yes man. Everything is looking great!

That pic of the Rb25 trans makes it look sooo beefy. Did you prep the trans in any way, like shotpeening/cryo?

That clutch is going to make the transmission the fuse depending on how much power you are making.

Nice job! Keep us updated.

thanks for the comments guys...

internals are:block bored 1mm over, w/ wiseco pistonsshot peened oem rodsnismo main and rod bearingsoem oil pump (some ppl might not agree with this but i have my reasons)all arp fasteners

transmission is a stock r34 rb25det. i converted it to push type, no cryo treating. we'll see how it holds up, a rebuild is always possible. (JP has JUST informed me that the r34 transmission is rumored to be stronger than r33 )

I wish I could say I was close to getting my 26 running but I still have all sorts of things to fab up. It will be a winter project for me. Looks good I hope all go's well. What did you use for a head gaskit and what size hk$ turbos are you running? You should have left it pink SO SEXY. JK I am staying black with some chrome add ons.

thanks guys...

bolt ons:hk$ gt2530s, n1 water pump, nismo 550cc injectors for now, cometic MLS head gasket slightly thicker than stock, exedy triple plate unsprung (yay, leg breaker), nismo slave, nismo t-stat, nismo fpr, power fc, koyo rad, FAL slim fans

the pink was really pimp actually. it grew on me.. if it wasn't so scuffed up i would've kept it. initially i tried to get my friend (who painted my vc's red) to redo the pink, but i decided against it. he ended up using a nissan red- i think he did a great job

thanks for all the comments guys. right now the motor still hasn't started. i tried fitting my joulespeed downpipe over the weekend and it didnt work. one of the bolts is off, and i'm sending it back. gonna go with mck on this one and see how theirs goes.

as far as the rest of the stuff, i'm missing the two main radiator hoses, need to piece those together.

then comes the wiring (should just be a simple plug up), filling w/ fluids (got some redline heavy shockproof on the way, 30 weight non-syn oil for breaking in the motor), then crossing fingers and turning the key.

Can you email me a pic of the valve/cam covers? I want to do mine in Red as well. Is that the exact match to the R34 covers? Is it candyapple red?
