If I were looking to buy that car I would offer no more than $2500. You are essentially offering me a stock car with sway bars and headers. The value of the reman engine is nil since 9 times out of 10 it is of poor quality (I am not saying yours is, just what the inherent resale value is). The rest really falls under "routine maintenance" and does not add value.I know this seems excessivly low but be realistic. If you find a 240SX nut, they will pay stupid amounts, but the average buyer who isn't stupid over 240's and the smart buyer knows the actual value.

In fact, now that I look closer, it has non-functional AC, dents and peeling paint. Expect me to start at $1200 and negotiate up from there.

You can laugh in my face, its ok, everybody does. Why wouldn't California count? So what if it comes with the AC, if it is in pieces it is worth nothing.I know Jasper does good engines, it just doesn't raise the value of the car any. Its still just a 1990 240SX. In great condition they barely go for 2500-3000. Most buyers won't even be as knowledgeable as me and will just shrug their shoulders when you list all that stuff. I think the real killer is the missing AC and the peeling paint. Bummer.I understand where you are coming from thgouh. I am selling my 1999 SC Saleen and the reality is that even though it is rare and powerful, it simply is not worth much to the average buyer. I (like you) will have to wait for someone who really knows and wants the car. Then we will get a more respectable price for our cars. Be honest with yourself, you don't really want to sell this car, and so its value is higher to you than to a potential buyer.

sad but true... i have to agree with ubernoober on this one... The big plus is that it's located on the East Coast and has no rust... That might bump it up a bit, but again, the buyer must know his stuff... Although 240sx is becoming a really sought after car (or is it just me)... Gumby, are you selling it due to your unfortunate accident (the rolling of the trailer accident), or you just need money??? Also i have a question for you. Earlier you were talking about rust in the engine bay around drivers side strut tower... Then you mentioned something about a workshop fixin it for 200+ or some guy for a 100$. I might have the same problem, and need help. Can you tell me more about it and how much would they (either workshop or that guy) charge me for welding a steel plate in... thanks, any help/advice/experiences shared will be appreciated... Thanks, and good luck if you decide to sell it...

No more than $2000 from me. Nothing special and pretty common car. Sorry man, but these cars are a dime a dozen now, even with extensive mods like some of us have!

If you look you will find them on the east coast. Got my '93 for 500 bucks, needed a transmission and the kid I bought it from had a good transmission in the trunk.

yeah i wouldnt think itd be worth very much on the market, which is why i'll be keeping it because i know it is worth far more in transportation than id get.

actually the worst damage from the fall was cosmetic.

Umm, I really dont mean to piss you off, but this is definately not true.

But the car starting at $1200 is kind of rediculous considering that otherpeople sell cars in worse condition than this for about $800 more. You may be able to get rid of it on Ebay for close to what you are asking.
