They also sell a face that places them in the 2 top AC vents. It replaces those vents with 3 spots for gauge.

damn Jhay! I have those exact 3 guages (same trim even!) in that same location. I tried 2 of those DIN gauge pods off ebay and they didn't fit, so I finally made my own out of aluminum sheet and painted it black:) I'll have to take some pictures of it.

put them where you can see them while paying attention to the road, if i had to look down towards my radio to see my gauges while driving i would killl myself and probably other people around me.

I agree put them where you can see them at least out of the corner of your eye with the least head movement. Alot easier to monitor stuff.

Thats why the vents are better than the DIN mounted...

Is there a way you can angle them towards you more? Ive seen cars with the din panels so the gauges tilt more towards them just dont know where to get them.

I'd show ya guys where I put my boost gauge, but I have no where to host the pics on my computer. Any help?

By the way though, boost gauge is on the steering column. Turbo timer in the radio tray.

They look like Z needles, but I could be wrong. I've got an autometer dual pod mounted on the A piller. Boost and A/F.

Thats a good point in having the guages in view..but I havent driven a turbocharged vehicle so how often are we looking at these guages? I know probably with boost pretty often..and A/F when there seems to be a problem?

That's not neccissarily true. There was a reason that I went with A/F, and it's not cuz I thought it looked cool. First of all, read this... http://www.sdsefi.com/techegt.htm. Secondly, I plan on running wide band later on down the road and there is a company that makes a little gadget that you attach inline to your meter and it will read from a wideband. There's always a method to my madness....

alot of the newer Nissans use red/orange needles. I pulled mine out of a mid-90's Q45. They fit perfect, and light up nicely at night too:)

Joe's look alot like s14 needles, but I'm not sure of that...

You can get the holding pods and screw them straight onto the top of the dash (angled at you). Perfect for visability...not the sleeper look though.:pface

Close! I bought an S14 and the old lady never lets me drive it. And on the off chance I do get to drive MY car, I love the look of the cluster. I have a base model with the black face gauges and red needles. Thought it looked pretty cool so I took one of my four spare clusters and hacked it all apart.

All I did was pry off the needles with a fork, took a hobby knife, scraped the white paint completely off the needle. Took some gloss red testors model paint, taped off the edges and repainted the bottom of the needle. Let it dry and reinstall. Easy as that. Looks awesome during the day, and lights up red at night, just like I wanted. Works for me!

just be very careful when you do it... I'd read about everyone breaking stuff and not marking where the needle goes here on Nico, and learned from their mistakes! I swapped my needles with no drama at all! Took all of 10 minutes:)

well... i took the needles off with ease... putting them back was fine... BUT they didnt work properly afterwards :(. like if i was made a fast stop from 40 to 0. and i have completely stopped, the needle will still be falling from like 20... SLOWLY...

its also kinda hard to explain it... when the needle depresses just a little... itll lag. but when its 'up'... it wont. it usually depresses though....

My speedometer kinda does that, but honestly I don't even look at the speedometer anymore. I drive by the tach an with the flow of traffic.

If you press it back down all the way, it should fix it. But the cicada's told me to just leave it alone and deal with it, or they will invade my front yard.

if i press it down all the way... thats why it get stucks and comes back slowly... its like i have to find the right spot...
