gauge cluster in '95 240 se wont light after stereo install

i recently installed a new head unit and now my gauge cluster, tape deck, and surrounding miscellanous lighted buttons no longer light. can anyone offer any help? i used the installation guide from http://www.installdr.com and also the factory amp bypass guide on http://www.240sx.org. through following both of these guides, i ended up with 4 wires connected to nothing in the trunk area where the factory amp used to be, and 5 wires from the original factory radio harness. please help me remedy this problem, as i hate not being able to drive at night

did you hook it up correctly? what did you do with the dimmer(illumination) wire? This is the wire that tells the interior dash lights to turn on, gotta be related.

i assume i hooked it up correctly because everything works except for the radio and that is because i havent bought one of thoes 2 prong nissan antenna adaptors. and yes that wire you speak of is most likley my problem. do you know what color wire it is in the stock harness? and what i am supposed to do with it? maybe just hook it to the 12v lead? :/ please help!
