there is a knock comming from my rb 20 - not loud enough to be the big end bearing sounds like it comeing from the 5th piston but kinda sounds like a machine gun ,any way i was thinking broken tappet or maybe a ring fell off the piston , although i did notice a loss in oil pressure ,and i read the article on rb motors being good for breaking there collars being short snout and all so maybe it coulda done that i dont no any ideas ?

unplug coil or lead from noisey cylinder area, one at a time, this will take the load off the damged piston or bigend bearing, the noise should stop if found right dud cylinder. If still there compression test, remove rocker cover to inspect cams and tappets.
