I have a skyline gts-4 and was wondering what kind off modifications I can do for under $2000. It already has cold air intake and the full exhaust line was upgraded. It has a turbo but I'm not sure if it is the biggest the car can handle. Thanks For all the help.

I doubt you'll get much of a response about this in here. If your looking for power modifications, I would pop over to the RB20/25/26 forum. As far as chassis or styling mods, not to many people here actually own a Skyline, so it's probably not the best place. Check out ------ for some good info. There's a lot of BS info on there too, but it's good for the most part.

Basically though, you have a GTR with a RB20 instead of an RB26. The number one thing I would do is motor swap, and start trying to make some real power.

Edit by mod...No posting links to competing forums.

Thanks.

It really is going to depend on what your goals are with the car. If you already have exhaust and CAI on it, you might consider doing the maintenence to make sure it's going to be in good shape once you start modding the engine. It's an older car with an RB20 that may have lots of miles on it. Make sure suspension and brakes are in good condition as well. The transfer case and front/rear diffs may need some new fluid.

As for the turbo, if it already has a larger/aftermaket turbo, leave it there for now and work on getting your fuel system built up for it. Also make sure that if you are going to bump up your turbo size that the engine can handle it.

For reference, I have a friend who has an R32 GTS-t Type M. He has HKS hi-cams, FMIC, full exhaust and an HKS 2350 turbo. It bolts right up to the stock manifold, and looks like a stock unit. He is putting about 380 at the wheels on .8kg of boost.

Styling wise, there are many body kits for the R32 four doors. They aren't to expensive, but if you buy from here in Japan, the shipping is gonna be pretty rediculous.

Also, you can check out RHD Japan's website for lots of good parts and prices. They have great customer service and decent prices.

The former owner was a nissan technician so everything is in excellent condition. Do you know the biggest turbo the stock engine could handle? If I went over what it could handle why kind of mods would I have to do? Thanks for all yw help so far.

The biggest turbo it can handle on stock internals...that I don't know.

But, once you start adding boost, in significant ammounts, it's time to look into pistons, valves and springs as well as getting the head done right, crankshaft...the list goes on.

Your engine will only be as good as it's built when you start adding horsepower. If you want more answers, head to the RB forums. There are many guys over there that know their engines inside and out and can guide you along the way.

BUT...be forwarned. If you go in without searching the site for possible answers to your questions, be prepared to take some verbal lashes from the old guard.
