Someone please help me understand this backwards company. More and more this company shows why its considered a budget luxury brand and why no other companies use them as comparisons in commercials. I've heard the name GTR a few times, I never really knew what the car was about. I saw one in person on the street and was underwhelmed, thinking it was just another go fast, heavy mod, tinker car, fast and furious type. Maybe with a little more umph. I decide to actually look it up now because of something I read and all I have to say is
I always believed the G was the best this company could do in the form of performance. So I looked at the M and simply said, it is what it is, the company can't do any better. Then BOOM, hit like a car taking off the way it should, I find out Nissan has this monster In its line up, so they are capable of making something that performs in a serious manner. Now I reflect and say, damn my parent company really doesn't care how the off brand looks or performs.
How does a company take its top of the line car and put it under the junior brand flag? Imagine Toyota taking the LFA instead of putting it to Lexus, VW taking the A7(my next car by the way) instead of putting it to Audi, or BMW putting the 6 series under the mini instead. These moves don't make sense and it seems only Nissan doesn't see it. Granted, the GTR has been around longer than infiniti, but since infiniti did this whole restructuring and branding crap, that can't be an excuse.
This thing is 545hp for $110-115k and it goes under a brand that I believe maxes at $38K!?
Mind you, the thing is marketed as a "luxury sport" but its put under the company's "standard" brand. Why wouldn't they put your top of the line car under your top of the line "luxury
Funny side note, not even the Hyundai Equus uses infiniti in any form of comparative marketing, they don't think it's even worth it and they are new to the scene, they go straight for the big boys smh.
When will they learn? Woe is infiniti.
