Just wondering if anyone know if a swap has been tried yet either to or from the GTR chassis. Not that perfection should be tapered with just wondering.

Swap from what to GT-R or GT-R to what?

Your question is extremely vague, and it's hard to figure out what you want to know.

Or at least padding his post count.

I'm going to keep an eye on his for sale threads. As long as things don't go all postal, should be ok.

No, it isn't spam. I've been a long time reader of the forums but never a member til now. Until now I have had no reason to post on this forum until... you guessed it, I have something to sell. I was also asking the question for an honest answer to a question that myself and other friends of mine have wondered which I figured that would I get an answer from someone that spends more time online than I do or so happened to stumble across an article on the GTR that I haven't seen. I really didn't ask the question for a pointless post about how new that i am when it obviously says how many post I have. And no it's not a vague question I was talking about the new GTR since obviously I know that swaps have gone to and from the R32, R33, and R34 "GTR" chassis. Think outside the box guys. Sorry, next time I will be more specific about what I thought was so obvious.

well... your question is... can you take the goodies from the r32,r33, and r34... and put it in the the new GTR the R35...

Direct bolt on?.. noEasy swap?... no

Can be done?... sure... anything can be done with time and money. Or even effort.

Now the money question.

Is it worth it? Not a dime worth it.

That quote is extrememely vague.

When you say swapping to or from the GTR chassis, it leaves it open for broad interpretation.

A better way to ask the question would have been...

Just wondering if anyone knows if an engine swap has been tried to or from the R35?

Straight, to the point and easy to understand.

Now, to answer the question. No, I don't think so...but maybe there is something in the works that just hasn't been publicized yet.

I know when the Z33 debuted, there were about 3 companies that were working on engine swaps within weeks of it hitting showroom floors. But the R35 is a bit more complicated because of all the electronics and the new engine/transmission design.

what about to voided warranty if you go into race mode? You don't see the ZR-1 vette voiding the warranty with a factory setup.

you don't get a voided warranty for going into race mode....

you void your warranty by thrashing your car, now that nissan has a way of knowing.

you can use launch control and turn off the differiential control features... but you are introducing more stress than the car was designed for. A modern minimalistic design for a single purpose. Grand Touring.

Again you can use these features without voiding the warranty... but using too much aka thrashing your car voids the warranty.

If you look at the purpose of a warranty... it's to fix manufacturing and design errors. Not user abuse, and Nissan gave a fair warning of this.

Goddigger is right about 2 things, 1 your question is to vagueand 2 the new gtr has many electronics...which requires you to remove them if you want to do a transplant.

If you want to put a clutch on the NEW GTR requring the whole drivetrain to be ditched. You also run into the engine management system which is programmed to revmatch with the rear transmission.

In the end... it's just another car... and people won't stop over-hyping this car until a new one comes or something else beats the hell out of it.
