Have you tried using manual mode at the track yet? Speaking of the GT-R.... where can I get a sweet shifter like the GT-R's?

Me too FGFC, I can't seem to find one anywhere. It looks sick though doesn't it.

I have a feeling if done right the manual mode could be faster than the auto. BTW, what rpms do you guys shift at when using manual mode?

I want a shifter like this bad but probably will never get one because I doubt think anyone would ever make something so simple. You have to shift before 6000 rpm's because if not the car will shift gears for you, and you will slow down drastically. I personally let of the gas right before 6000 rpms and then switch into the next gear, this way your rpms have dropped lower for the next gear. Almost as if hitting the clutch in a standard transmission. Seems a lot faster to me, and I drive in manual mode a lot.

Manual is just good for take off's or just getting your RPM's up if your already moving. IMO

ya i just use manual mode from a roll. put it in manual mode and drop a gear or two and then just floor the gas..... when i do drive manual mode though, i usually just keep my foot all the way on the gas and let the car shift on its own so you get the highest RPMs out of manual mode...

i personally think "D" is faster but if you guys want, i can do both the next time i go to the track. all you manual mode guys let me know what exactly works best for you (letting it shift on its own, shifting at certain RPMs, letting off the gas to lower your RPMs?) so i can race it my best in manual mode to get an accurate time and see which one really is faster.

Check it out for sure but I'm with you, I think "D" is much faster. When you're in manual especially racin from a roll you get more immediate power and then you can switch to "D".

lol ya thats what i do. i put it in manual mode, down shift a couple gears, floor the gas all the way and well my foot is all the way on the gas, hit it back in "D" lol
