I thought it would never come to this!

Today I saw a beautiful blue s13 around town. Nice, simple body kit, perfect paint, good exhaust, slightly lowered, good rims and tires, and a REALLY nice 180sx tail light conversion. At first glance this car made me want to wet myself. As I got closer I noticed a rather ominous aluminum wing..... bad idea.... but forgivable. Then, when I ended up behind him in stopped traffic........ there it was, just as plain as day..... the big, "GTR" emblem on the back.... WHY! Even a Silvia badge or something might be almost alright... but GTR.... come on...... please!!!

Well I guess that's kind of my point.... This guy is obviously an enthusiast... he bothered with a VERY bad a$$ 180sx tail... why go through all that trouble building a GREAT car.. and ruin it with a GTR emblem... it would almost make more sense if it was a junker of a 240... that some little ricer kid threw some GTR badges on, so he could look cool to his Honda buddies... it's just so disappointing to be a 240 fanatic..... see a nice 240... and then have to be let down by such a silly thing..... oh well, like you said, "live and let Live I asy"!

Come on guys, don't get so worked up over an emblem. At least he's got the company right, that's worth something isn't it? Now what really pissed me off when I saw an old '90 escort w/ a GTR emblem. Now THAT's retarded. :)

Nick.

it's true. there is no respect for anything sacred. the GTR emblem is reserved for the Best sports car NISSAN has to offer. Type-R - Best honda has to offerWRX STi - Best Subaru has to offer (am i right on tis?)The GTO emblem and SS emblems are revered over here in good ole US of A. I know a couple o buddies would throw a fit if tehy saw a civic GTO or a Intergra SS (super street)

Modding you car to the level where it performs and like a Silvia/Type-R/STi gives you the right to put the emblems on. Performance is why those cars were given the badge to set them apart from their brethren.

Me thinks the respect should be kept where it belong.I saw a 5.0 Mustang GTR in a mag some time ago. I wonder why I havent seen many Civic Cobras or Cavalier Type-Rs.....wait I've seen both......its a sad sad world.

It ALMOST gives you the right to put that badging on it. I would love to have genuine K's, Q's, J's, or A's badges... but it would NOT go on my car! Putting the GTR badge on is a FAR cry from a Silvia badge. Although.... atleast skylines are IN the U.S.! Point being, I guess it would be more realistic to see a GTR than a Silvia. Still no excuse...

You're an *******. Nobody said i put the emblems on myself, i said they came with the car. I can't afford to get them removed because i'm paying for my own university.

He said he kicked my car because he hates my brother. Some reason *rolls eyes*

Wow, seven stars? I thought we were operating on a four-star system here. How did I pick up the extra credit?

You're right, those are expensive. Have you thought about not having a football team? If you can avoid building a stadium, it'll save you a lot of money.

Well, you got me there. I'm paying my own way through university :pface

First time I saw the imfamous GTR emblem was on a brand new Mitsubishi Lancer. Yes the 4 door gutless family sedan. With a aluminum spoiler that clear the roof and stock hubcaps. What really blew my mind is the guy driving looked close to 35 and had a girl with him that also looked 35 or so. I just gave them a confused look. I was hoping they would get a hint that their car is now very confused because of what they've done.

god dang you for being right. It almost gives you the right. ANd yes, a silvia badge would make more sense than a GTR badge.

Silvias and GTRs fill totally different roles in Nissan's line up. You have the big, weight lifting brother who wrestles in the olympics and the little bro who runs the 100 meter sprint.

ME thinks they compliment each other well and I'd be happy, as most of you would, to have anyone or both (if wishes only came true) in my garage.

GT-R emblem ONLY belongs on a GT-R, plain and simple.

I'm gonna stick GT-R emblems all over my car, they're good for like 50hp each!! Even better than Vtec, Vtecs been so overplayed they're only good for 35hp each. : )

My friend has an automatic Civic EX (98 or so). He knows nothing about cars, and has no desire, and doesn't care at all about them. Of course his ricer friend gave him an SI sticker. Being the a**hole that he is, he threw it on (right next to the ex badge). He didn't like it and ended up taking off the "I", so now he is the proud owner of a Civic SEX.

When (or if) my car ever gets done, there MAY be a Silvia badge on the back, but most likely I'll throw a 200sx bagde on the back, or just take the 240 one off. I like the rear to be badgeless (although I'd never take the Nissan off my hood, even for a Silvia emblem).

I dont see no a problem really with puttin a silvia badge on a 240sx. The silvia didnt just come with an sr20det with 200+hp. There was a naturally aspirated version with performance close to the KA 240. GT-R badge is a different story, Should only be on skylines.

i saw a 3000gt out here with the GTO back reflector piece. i did a double take cause im so used to seeing th 3000gt piece. oh and for the guy who asked what GTO stands for, Gran Turismo Obilongata( i know the last word is wrong). Pontiac took the idea from the Ferrari GTO and used it on their Tempest as a trim package. then it became its own car.
