Now this is just a thought. I tinted the newer GTR just the other day and fell in love with the slickness of the door handles. Has anyone ever seen this done before? Or have any of you guys have just done a door handle conversion in general. I found a whole assembly kit from a totaled GTR for $120.
Figured why not just see if its possible, so i can add this to my Z's bucket list.

The Vantage and Vanquish door handles are cleaner in my opinion and really anything is possible, all it takes is time and money.

IMO they would look a little out of place with the classic 90's Nissan sexiness that the z32 holds.

If its what you'd like to do, (as said before) throw enough time and money at it n you'll have the first Z32 with R35 door handles I've seen or even heard of.

If you go through with this, it's much more complicated than just replacing the door assembly with the R35 assembly. You would need everything from the r35, down to the latch. There would be a lot of custom wiring needing to be done in order to get the keyless entry done right, and even the door jamb side of the door would need extensive work to close properly. Custom weatherstripping to boot, I'm assuming.

With time and patience, and the proper tools, you could do It. The immediate problem I see is that the right side of the R35 door handle is at a different angle from the z32 door. It would need an addition made to the r35 door handle mounting plate to accomodate (or mount at an angle that matches the angle on the r35 handle, which would look weird.)

Get an extra set of doors, I have a feeling it wouldn't go right the first time you try to measure everything and cut precisely the space needed to accomodate this handle in the z32 door jamb frame.

^I absolutely disagree with this, I am absolutely positive that you can make the R35 door handle work in a Z32 without the need to replace the entire mechanism, maybe you'd need to ab a few pieces but surely not he entire mechanism. Eli, i'm not sure where you're coming from but what you are talking about is madness.

I was comparing the pictures of the two doors when I was writing that, and giving my take on this project. But I never knew how the r35 door opened, I never seen it until just now. Image

Seeing that, it's changed my mind a little about how hard this would be. I thought it was entirely electrical for some reason.

That's what I figured you were thinking, now I'm not 100% sure that its not but I am just hoping that Nissan has sense enough to leave the mechanical system in place (if it ain't broke don't fix. . . oh yeah s*** look at the auto market today) carry on. :tisk:
