The Pulsar isn't newer than the Bluebird. It came out after the Bluebird, but the Bluebird is still in production (with QR motors now) but the Pulsar is out of production.
Also, the Pulsar is another highly sought after engine swap for the B13, B14, and B15. However, the Pulsar SR20DET costs more due to it's individual throttle body's, stronger main caps, and stronger connecting rods. And same goes with the Pulsar when mating in a FWD car (like the Sentra). It must be bolted to the SR20DE FWD transmission that comes stock in the B13, B14, and B15.
The BB and Pulsar SR20DET's are AWD, but they are transversly mounted so they fit in FWD vehicles just as easily.
