I herd ( i dont remember where) that the main bearings in an GTI-R engine lubricate at 360 degrees while regular sr bearings lubricate at 180 degrees. I dont know for sure cause i havnt been able to find any info on this. I do remember seeing the bearing and it had a groove cut all the way around. Im not 100% sure on this, but has anyone herd or seen the same thing. Do you know if they fit in a regular SR block? cause i believe the GTI-R crankshaft is thicker too. Any input would be great. Thanks.

i am not sure which dimension is different but i think the bearings are wider on the gtir. this would mean they dont fit. however, bearings can be trimmed to fit if thats the only dimension of difference(again, i am not sure). i think the gtir bearings are overkill as the big names in japan dont use them in rwd setups. tomei uses stockers i think. the stockers really are good.

Secret services had their sr at 550hp on a 100% stock block, that tells me that stock bearings are perfectly fine for any of us with less than astronomical hobby budgets.

stockers as in OEM Nissan. If you look at the bearings they're using in their Derive and Genesis engines (in their motor build up guide) you can see that they're not using the fancy F1 black bearings by Power enterprise, or Nismo bearings. Look to be plain Jane OEM Nissan bearings.

GTi-R bearings are 19mm wide and RWD SR's are 17mm. Stock bearings should be fine for 95% of the SR's out there.

You can however use GTi-R rod bearings, which is what I'm doing.
